Curator’s statement

After spending 24 hours in Venice and three days on the Amalfi Coast, a whirlwind 24 hours in Rome was just the perfect way to end my Italian girls trip getaway! Rome offers a taste of the city's rich history and vibrant culture (and lots of steps!). We spent the whole day walking to every major landmark in Rome, such as The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican City, Pantheon and Piazza del Popolo. Believe it or not, we still had time to stop for the Italian drink of choice, the Aperol Spritz.

Things to do in Rome

A view of the Roman Colosseum at dusk. There are roads, trees and a green lawn in the surrounding areas.

With only 24 hours in Rome, you need to walk to all of these landmarks! You will feel so accomplished and impressed with everything you got to take in during your trip

  • The Colosseum

  • Trevi Fountain

  • Spanish Steps

  • Pantheon

  • Piazza del Popolo

  • Vatican City (I would suggest doing a private tour through the Vatican with an express pass into the Sistine Chapel)

Breakfast

  • Marigold Roma: Peaceful ambiance filled with wildflowers and sustainable food. Grab a quick breakfast bakery item, brunch or lunch. Anything you choose will make you thankful for stopping in!

Lunch and Dinner

  • Anima at The Rome Edition: This ultra-chic spot is the place to be seen. Chef Paola Colucci truly creates a masterpiece in every dish that comes out. The interior and outdoor design is absolutely beyond and a masterpiece in its own way. After dinner, grab a drink at the unbelievable rooftop bar (The ROOF) and take in the views of Rome.

  • Seu Pizza Illuminati: Old-school pizzeria with a cool vibe, but mostly come for the creative pizza pies.

  • INEO: Contemporary design with mood lighting, mastered cocktails, a perfectly curated wine list and a menu that will make you not want to leave without trying the raspberry and rhubarb souffle.

  • Maccheroni: This is where Rome's movers and shakers come for their midday bowl of pasta.
