Curator’s statement

Did you know Portugal is home to over 250 native wine grape varieties? In the Douro Valley alone, you’ll find around 13 of them thriving. This includes popular local grapes like Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Barroca. The Douro Valley is a special place for me—it always brings back memories of trips with my dad, family gatherings, and romantic getaways with my boyfriend. Its peaceful, romantic vibe makes it the perfect escape after soaking up Lisbon’s lively energy. This guide is my way of sharing what I love about the countryside. From its calm charm, to Portugal’s warm hospitality and rich wine culture. Every time I visit, it feels like coming home.
