Nestled along Bali’s breathtaking southern coast, the resort offers the perfect mix of laid-back surf culture and refined luxury. The staff’s warmth and attention to detail immediately stood out — every interaction felt effortless yet personalized. Whether it was a friendly greeting at breakfast, thoughtful touches in my room or seamless service at the beach club, everything here felt designed to make guests feel completely at ease. COMO Uma Canggu isn’t just a place to stay. It’s an experience that immerses you in the best of Bali.
One of the highlights for me was the way the resort balances wellness with indulgence. I spent my mornings at COMO Shambhala, the resort’s renowned spa, where daily yoga and deeply restorative treatments made it easy to slip into full relaxation mode. For those who love to stay active, the beach right in front of the hotel is one of the best surf spots in Canggu. It is perfect for both beginners and experienced surfers. And when I wasn’t unwinding at the spa or watching the surfers, the resort’s sleek gym and fitness classes gave me the option to keep moving while still enjoying the slower pace of Bali life.

The food at COMO Uma Canggu was another highlight of my stay. Every meal felt nourishing yet indulgent, with fresh, organic ingredients and bold flavors that made healthy eating exciting. Mornings started with vibrant smoothie bowls and fresh-pressed juices, while evenings were spent at COMO Beach Club, sipping cocktails and watching the sunset over the waves. Glow, the resort’s wellness-focused restaurant, serves some of the best healthy dishes I’ve had, proving that nutritious food never has to be boring.

Best time to visit: Bali is a year-round destination, but the dry season (April to October) offers the best weather for beach days and outdoor activities. If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting in the shoulder months of May, June or September.
Getting around: Canggu’s roads can get busy, so I recommend hiring a private driver for longer excursions or renting a scooter if you're comfortable navigating local traffic. Many cafes, boutiques and beach clubs are within walking distance of COMO Uma Canggu, making it easy to explore.
Local hotspots: While the resort itself is a destination, Canggu is full of stylish beach clubs, fantastic dining spots and cool boutiques. Some of my favorites nearby include The Lawn for sunset drinks, La Brisa for boho-chic beach vibes and Mason for an incredible dinner. If you’re into wellness, there are plenty of yoga studios and holistic cafes to check out in the area.
Packing tips: Lightweight, breathable clothing is a must, along with swimwear, sandals and a chic cover-up for beach days. Don’t forget reef-safe sunscreen, as Bali’s sun can be intense. A light rain jacket is also a good idea if visiting during the wet season.
Cultural considerations: Bali has a rich culture and strong spiritual traditions. When visiting temples or sacred sites, be sure to dress respectfully by covering your shoulders and knees. A simple sarong will do the trick, and many temples provide them at the entrance.
