Fora’s Take
Tahiti is a dream anniversary and honeymoon destination, but is also perfect for families of different abilities. We visited Taha'a after having been to Tahiti several times. Taha'a is remote, unspoiled and a nature lover's dream. Having all the attributes of French Polynesia's warm, clear water, abundant marine life and overwater and beach bungalows, while being far from the crowds. The warm and attentive staff provide a personalized touch.

Nestled in the embrace of solitude, Le Taha'a Island Resort beckons those seeking respite from the hustle of the world. This haven is a beauty and serenity, a secluded paradise for families, couples and solo travelers seeking to truly relax away from it all.
Getting there is an adventure in itself. A flight from the island of Tahiti to Raiatea island, and then a boat ride, passing the actual Taha'a to get to the secluded motu haven. As you step onto the hotel platform, the crystal-clear lagoon unfurls before you like a liquid sapphire, inviting you to immerse yourself in it. The waters here are a true snorkeler's paradise: warm and teeming with vibrant marine life, and a kaleidoscope of colors.
Lodging here is either a classic overwater bungalow or a beach villa - you can't go wrong. The overwater bungalows provide views of either Bora Bora or Taha'a, and of course, an endless expanse of crystalline waters in mesmerizing shades of blue. Glass-bottom floors transform your living space into an aquarium of wonders. Of note, two of these are wheelchair-accessible.
For those who prefer the romance of the shore, Le Taha'a's beach villas are the epitome of barefoot luxury. Nestled amid swaying palms and the gentle rustle of tropical foliage, these villas seamlessly integrate with the island and beach. Our days consisted of reading lazily on the verandah, watching the children in the warm turquoise waters in front of us and sipping coconut water or a cool drink.
In the evenings, after snorkeling or swimming, we would take a kayak ride just before the sunset. With a view of magnificent Bora Bora every day. A vista that redefines the meaning of breathtaking, with its majestic cliffs adorned with lush vegetation.
This island retreat is more than a getaway; it's an invitation to rediscover the essence of peace and calm.
Need to know
We highly recommend Le Taha'a to those who love the South Pacific landscape and culture seeking a place that is quiet, peaceful and remote. Taha'a would be an excellent addition to an itinerary including either Bora Bora or Moo'rea, larger volcanic islands with more activities.
