Curator’s statement
Palm Springs is a magical oasis that I've frequented for years. Its wonderful weather, stunning scenery and mid-century charm have carved a special place in my heart. One Palm Springs luxury resort stands out for its kitschy, yet whimsical style. The Parker, formerly owned by Western movie star Gene Autry, is undeniably one of the area's most unique places to stay. Despite the hotel’s large size for Palm Springs, it still feels private and exclusive.

Parker Palm Springs Resort is a renowned luxury resort with a great mid-century vibe. The resort is set on a 13-acre property featuring lush gardens with large fruit trees helping shade the property from the warm desert sun. The resort boasts breathtaking mountain views. It is a short distance from Downtown but easily accessible by car service or rentable bike service from the resort.
Parker Palm Springs offers exceptional accommodations. The resort features a selection of chic rooms and suites, all meticulously curated by the renowned designer Jonathan Adler. Having initially experienced the Parker Palm Springs years ago, I developed an admiration for their design, leading me to acquire several items from their store here in Dallas. Guests at this luxurious Palm Springs resort can enjoy generously sized rooms, some of which come with private patios or balconies.
The luxury resort in Palm Springs offers an array of recreational options and activities for guests to enjoy. These include three pools, one of which is indoors, red clay tennis courts, yoga classes and even a game of croquet. Additionally, in the evenings, guests can unwind with a refreshing cocktail while sitting by the cozy fire pits to enjoy the cool night air.
Located within the resort is the Palm Springs Yacht Club, a multifunctional space that serves as the resort's spa. This luxurious spa features 15 well-appointed treatment rooms offering a wide range of services, from rejuvenating facials to soothing wraps, relaxing reflexology and massages. Guests can also take advantage of the locker room facilities and enjoy a dip in the indoor pool. To enhance the spa experience, they even begin with a refreshing cucumber-
Infused vodka shot, setting the tone for relaxation and indulgence.
The resort boasts a collection of outstanding restaurants, each providing a distinct culinary adventure. Norma's features an open-air terrace serving breakfast all day and night, with afternoon additions like fish tacos and sandwiches. For those seeking handcrafted cocktails and delectable small plates, the stylish Mini Bar is a must-visit, and be sure to try the Parker Paloma. If you prefer wine, Counter-Reformation offers Rose in three different sizes to cater to your preferences.
When we do venture out of the resort, we like to visit some local restaurants close to downtown:
Downtown Palm Springs Restaurants
Ruben and Ozzy's Oyster Bar and Grill has a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere and is frequented by numerous locals. The culinary team consists of two talented brothers, and if you choose to sit at the counter, you'll can observe their cooking skills and engage in friendly conversations with them. One of my personal favorites from their menu is the Mexican poke, which makes for a great starter.
Eight4Nine offers fantastic food, excellent drinks and is perfect for groups. The interior design seamlessly blends modern and eclectic elements. I highly recommend trying the corn and crab chowder, it's a must-try!
V Wine Lounge and Martini Bar boasts mid-century modern style complete with a wonderful outdoor patio. They specialize in crafting superb martinis and offer an extensive range of California wines.
