Rich History

The site of the Scotland Yard Hotel has a rich history dating back to medieval times when it served as a castle for Scottish royalty. From the 1820s to the late 19th century, it was the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police, famously connected to the tales of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The entire hotel is filled with stories, memorabilia and design inspiration from its iconic past — making your stay truly immersive.

Luxurious Accommodations

The 168 rooms, spread over five floors, vary in size, shape and layout due to the building's original structure. Each door features the Metropolitan Police crest, and the decor is elegant with neutral tones of beige and taupe. Modern amenities include a Nespresso machine, a well-stocked minibar concealed behind furniture and heated Toto toilets in the bathrooms. The Scottish Fine Soaps company provides the toiletries, adding a luxurious touch to the experience.

Incredible Restaurants

The dining options are outstanding. The Parlour, a tea lounge with Indian-inspired decor, offers a sumptuous afternoon tea in a gorgeous setting that feels as if you are in Jaipur.

The 40 Elephants bar, named after a 19th-century female gang, features playful interiors inspired by the infamous gang — including shattered glass chandeliers and clear tabletops featuring their memorabilia.

The star of the show is their restaurant “The Yard” by Robin Gill. The open kitchen and relaxed environment provide a welcoming dining experience, and this is also where daily breakfast is served.

Unique Features

One of the most enchanting aspects of the hotel is its secret speakeasy, accessible by taking a specific book from the hotel's library. This exclusive bar offers a Prohibition-era ambiance with expertly crafted cocktails and an intimate setting. Additionally, the hotel features a large basement meeting space, making it perfect for corporate or celebratory events.
