Best Hotels in Paris for Families
Curator’s statement

When someone says Paris, a few things might come to your mind right away. Probably the Eiffel Tower, or Paris Fashion Week, or the Louvre, but I bet you don't think of family-friendly hotels. Some would say that Paris is not family-friendly or that there is a lack of family-friendly hotels and activities in Paris. As a travel advisor who specializes in family travel, I would disagree. Let me show you some of the best hotels in Paris for families and what makes them stand out from the rest.

As a travel advisor, people always ask me, "What's the best hotel in (insert city name here)?" What they do not realize is that that answer depends on the client. It is not a one-size-fits-all situation because all people are different. In the same way, all families are different and have different needs. That being said, I truly believe that these are the best hotels in Paris for families because of the level of care and attention to detail that they provide for the whole family, but especially for children.

The Peninsula Paris

What makes the Peninsula one of the best hotels in Paris for families? The variety of activities they offer. The Peninsula Kids' Academy offers junior guests a Kids' Candy Wonderland experience in the hotel's kitchen. If your kiddos love candy or if they want to feel like they are Willy Wonka for a day, they will love this experience! For kiddos who are into sports, The Peninsula offers an excursion where they can get an exclusive look at the Paris Saint-Germain soccer club. If you love providing unique educational activities for your kids while you travel, they have the option of doing a treasure hunt at the Louvre, or you can opt for a French language lesson for them. All the restaurants in the hotel come with a children's menu, and they even host a special kids' brunch every Sunday! Oh, and in case you were wondering, the hotel does have an indoor pool that junior guests can enjoy.

Four Seasons Hotel George V

This brand loves to go above and beyond for their junior guests. At this particular property, you can book a Precious Little Moments package for your kiddos. They will be treated to daily breakfast at La Galerie restaurant or through the in-room dining service if you prefer. They will also receive a stuffed version of Little George, the hotel's mascot, and all sorts of personalized treats. If you need a babysitter, just let the hotel staff know 24 hours before and they will arrange it for you. Additionally, the hotel has a pool for the whole family to enjoy!

Shangri-La Paris

This family-friendly brand also likes to go above and beyond for their tiny guests. When you check into Shangri-La with your kiddos, each kid is given their own hotel passport. They can use this to collect stamps at selected checkpoints within the hotel, such as the spa or the restaurant! They will also be treated to a plethora of gifts such as a plushie of Bamboo the panda (the hotel's mascot), a coloring book, slippers, a backpack and a kid-sized umbrella! The hotel also offers babysitting services if needed. At Shangri-La, the staff truly goes above and beyond to make sure that the littlest guests feel special. (As a side note, nearly half of the rooms at Shangri-La offer magnificent views of the Eiffel Tower!)

Cheval Blanc

This list would not be complete without Cheval Blanc. If you are traveling with kiddos ages 12 and under, then you want to book Cheval Blanc. Why, you ask? Because of Le Carrousel. Le Carrousel is everything you want a playroom to be. It is a fantastic, colorful world full of immersive experiences for kiddos. They can take part in educational ecological workshops while also enjoying the mystical sights all around them. In the Little Bess room, kids from ages four to seven can learn all about the secret life of bees by becoming a bee themselves! This beehive-like room provides the perfect blend of learning time and playtime. Kids between the ages of 8 through 12 can learn all about marine life in Under the Sea, a room dedicated to discovering the aquatic world through a virtual reality movie. They'll even get to say hello to Le Carrousel's mascots, two axolotls!

Need to know

I have a passion for making sure that children get the treatment they deserve when they are welcomed at a hotel. The staff at these hotels do their best to provide children with the unique care and attention that they should have. That is why I think these hotels are the best hotels in Paris for families.
