Curator’s statement
I had the pleasure of staying at Forestis, a five-star luxury spa escape in the Dolomites. The newly renovated hotel opened its doors in 2020, housing 69 rooms. The property is nestled between Plose mountain in the South Tyrolean Alps and the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rooms range from the standard suite in the original building from 1912, to the tower suites and penthouses located in the newly constructed towers. Each floor has only two rooms, maintaining the peaceful atmosphere offered at the property. Every room has a view of the Dolomites and includes a balcony, apart from their lower-category rooms. If you are lucky enough to stay in one of their two penthouse suites, you will be able to enjoy the private rooftop sauna and spa. The two-story suite also includes a fireplace, kitchen and fully stocked bar. As a client of mine, you are guaranteed a suite or higher-category room during your stay.
If you’re looking to relax, you've come to the right place. Forestis has an exceptional spa with five saunas, including a herbal sauna and a ‘forest sauna’ with views of the Dolomites, an indoor and outdoor cold plunge, an indoor and outdoor heated pool and a full-service spa. The property also has a full gym with Technogym equipment as well as a yoga and meditation room. All guests receive complimentary Wyda yoga classes during their stay.
When booking with me, your stay will include breakfast and dinner at their in-house restaurant with local fare, including fresh-made pasta and schnitzel. You can enjoy breakfast at the restaurant or in your room with that unforgettable view. There is also a separate restaurant for lunch and a bar open in the evening. Throughout the property you will find fresh Plose spring water fountains that you can drink from. It is the freshest water I’ve ever tasted.
No matter what season you visit, you will have plenty to do. During the winter months, Plose Mountain is an easy 15 min drive from the property, offering skiing and snowboarding. On site you can snowshoe and sled. During the warmer months, there are great hiking and biking trails and beautiful lakes just a short drive away.
If you wish to escape the serene landscape of the mountains and head into town, Bressanone is a quick 30-minute drive. The quaint town hosts a Christmas Market every December and has local shops and dining.
