Location

Ischia is an island situated in the Gulf of Naples. You can reach it by ferry from the Port of Naples, and it takes about one hour to get there, depending on the vessel. It's best to arrange transfers (which the hotel can help with) ahead of time to minimize waiting times. Once you arrive in Ischia, the drive to the hotel is relatively quick and offers beautiful views of the Gulf.

The hotel

Botania Relais & Spa is made up of 10 villas, which contain the hotel rooms. The hotel extends across a large Mediterranean garden, making the hotel perfectly suitable for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway. It’s the ideal escape.

If you have already been to this part of the world, you will know how incredibly fresh everything tastes. What is unique about Botania Relais & Spa is that they grow their own fruits and vegetables on site — it truly doesn’t get more organically grown than that! The hotel features an ample choice of restaurants, all showcasing the incredible specialties that Ischia has to offer, from fresh local seafood to the world-renowned Mozzarella di Bufala.

Things to do

You cannot leave Ischia without seeing it from a boat. This large island (about four times the size of Capri!) offers breathtaking views from every angle. If you would like a proper tour of the island, I recommend a full boat day starting in the morning. There are plenty of options to stop for lunch on the water.

While the most popular town on the island is Ischia (which is what the island takes its name from), the island is actually made up of six municipalities. If you appreciate hidden gems as much as I do, make sure to check out Sant’Angelo. It’s an old, charming fishing village with pastel-colored buildings — it will make you fall in love with the island.
