Hammetts Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Newport, RI, located right on America's Cup Avenue. Overlooking the Harbour, Hammetts is just steps from shopping, dining and all of the goodies that Newport has to offer.

I walked to Bowen's Wharf, Bannister's Wharf and was able to enjoy the International Sailing Museum. The gorgeous historic mansions are a very short car ride away - a must-see as well. Even though my time here was in December, I braved the Cliff Walk, which is a stunning trail that runs along the rocky sea coast.

The hotel is fresh, as it was newly opened and built in 2020. The design is simple and contemporary with nautical compliments, of course. Amenities are light here - you won't find robes/slippers, toiletries, etc., however I still felt well taken care of.

With 84 guest rooms, the hotel feels intimate and the staff were all helpful and gracious.

Highly recommend for anyone traveling on business or leisure to Newport! Small groups would be a great fit here as well.

Need to know

For small groups, the Hammetts Hotel has one meeting space to offer. Note that all catering and F&B services are through a partner company. Hammetts also partners with the International Sailing Museum and next-door Guisto restaurant, which opens up the capacity to host a bit. More space is forthcoming, as I understand.
