Curator’s statement
I want to share a true gem with you from my adoptive home! I have lived on the coast of Ecuador since 2020 and have explored much of the coast and Andes regions in that time. If you are looking to "get away from it all," slow down, and connect with nature, Cerro Lobo in La Rinconada is the perfect place for you.

Cerro Lobo is a small, family owned-and operated boutique jungle lodge located three hours north of Guayaquil and 10 minutes south of Ayampe, Ecuador on the Pacific Coast. I recommend renting a car if you stay here so that you can easily visit the nearby beaches (Ayampe 5 minute drive north or Olon, 15 minutes south).
Cerro Lobo has seven spacious suites that each have their own kitchen, bathroom, and lounging area. Five of the seven rooms also have their own terrace/patio. Each suite is very private, most of them are free-standing. Well-maintained walking paths, surrounded by lush vegetation lead to each suite.
The seven suites share a pool area with absolutely incredible views of the jungle and the Pacific ocean. There is also a lounge and outdoor cafe area where meals are served. Breakfast is included with the room and the hotel serves lunch and dinner for those that don't want to venture out to the surrounding towns.
Who is this property for? Someone who is looking for a peaceful, nature escape. You are completely surrounded by jungle and every view is more beautiful than the last. It is an excellent choice for a romantic getaway or for a retreat or group trip you could rent the entire property.
If you want a warm, sunny, tropical, beach vacation, the best time to visit is December through May. Whale season starts in June and runs through September, you might even spot one from Cerro Lobo!
