Epic safari at Xigera
Curator’s statement

I went with a group to Xigera in Botswana during early October. The camp is undoubtedly the most magical place I have ever stayed and the hospitality was second to none. I cannot say enough good things and would highly recommend it to my clients.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the magnificent Xigera Hotel, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional experience it provided. From the moment I arrived, I was graced with outstanding hospitality and a warm welcome that set the tone for the rest of my stay.

Nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Okavango Delta, Xigera seamlessly blends nature and luxury. The architecture and design of the hotel are awe-inspiring, with each element thoughtfully crafted to complement the natural beauty of its surroundings. The attention to detail is evident in every corner and every smile. In fact, not to be missed is their self-guided tour of African art and design.

In terms of accommodation, the rooms at Xigera Hotel are simply breathtaking. At over 2,000 sqft, they are spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities, they offer a luxurious sanctuary to unwind and rejuvenate. The expansive windows offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and allow you to immerse yourself in the wild beauty that Botswana has to offer. We had monkey's and various antelope that were just mere feet away. Worth mentioning that even while the rooms are large, the outdoor space was just as livable. There's an outdoor shower and outdoor living rooms - yes, many, in every room.

The culinary experience at Xigera Hotel is nothing short of outstanding. The talented chefs take pride in delivering exceptional dishes that showcase the flavors of local ingredients. Every meal was a delightful journey of the senses, and the attentive staff ensured that every dining experience was personalized and memorable.

What sets Xigera Hotel apart is the wealth of activities and experiences it offers. From game drives and guided walks to boat safaris and birdwatching, there is something for every nature lover. The expert safari guides accompanying us during these activities were knowledgeable, passionate, and committed to ensuring an unforgettable encounter with the rich wildlife of the Okavango Delta. We saw so much wildlife on every game drive and according to some other experienced safari goers in our group, it was more than they had seen at other camps by quite a lot. The rarest sightings were honey badgers and wild dogs. We also saw an incredible amount of lions, leopards, and elephants. The list is too extensive to name all of them.

One aspect that truly stood out during my stay at Xigera Hotel was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to cater to every need and desire, ensuring that every moment was blissful and unforgettable. Their warm smiles and genuine care made me feel like a valued guest, and their attention to detail was exceptional. The hospitality is nothing short of the best. They knew how I took my coffee and my margarita!

Need to know

Xigera was without a doubt one of the most captivating and luxurious experiences I have ever had. This safari camp combined the beauty of nature with top-notch hospitality and incredible daily game drives. Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway or a memorable family adventure in the heart of Botswana, Xigera Hotel is the perfect destination. I cannot recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return for another extraordinary stay.
