First Trip to Italy and the Greek Isles
Curator’s statement

I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Vatican for tour starts. I was very pleased with the atmosphere and room options. It was not an "American" hotel, which I enjoyed. I got the true Italian experience.

Where to stay in Italy and Greek Isles

Round-trip cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) with nine ports in 10 days. This itinerary featured unforgettable stops in Santorini, Athens, Olympia and Mykonos in Greece, as well as Sicily, Naples and Florence in Italy — plus a visit to Malta — all aboard the Norwegian Breakaway. Took this trip in October of 2023 and the weather was perfect for all the excursions, most of which were booked through Viator. We took several private tours to go to places a tour bus could not go to and to learn much about the local culture. So much to do on the ship, even if you choose not to get off the ship at every port. Now I want to go back to several locations. We have to since we tossed a coin in the Trevi Fountain.

Need to know

I definitely recommend getting to Rome several days early. It helps with the time difference and there is so much to see. We even took a golf cart tour of the city, going places a tour bus can not go.
