Combining Work with Play in Baltimore
Curator’s statement

While attending a conference in Baltimore for work, I chose to stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco rather than the conference-suggested hotels, and what a great decision that turned out to be. The Hotel Monaco was simply stunning and made me feel as if I had stepped back into a time when all that glittered was indeed gold. There was marble as far as the eye could see as well as exquisite chandeliers, crown molding, furniture and accessories that gave the facility a feeling of luxury and prestige. Beyond the beauty of the hotel, the service was amazing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to my clients.

The hotel is in a wonderful location close to Baltimore's Inner Harbor and only two blocks from the Convention Center. It is within walking distance of several tourist destinations including the grave of Edgar Allan Poe, Babe Ruth's Birthplace Museum and Oriole Park at Camden Yard all of which I visited while in town. Public transportation is easily accessible as well. The hotel had security on site and additional features such as key card operated elevators that made me feel very safe. There were nearby sandwich shops as well as an on-site restaurant that served high-level cuisine.

Need to know

I would recommend this hotel to any client who appreciates classic architecture and appreciates luxurious finishes. For an event at the Convention Center or just a quick weekend getaway, you honestly can't go wrong with the Hotel Monaco.
