Curator’s statement
While I visited Park Hyatt Beaver Creek during the summer, I envision myself returning to the resort with my family during the winter season. I love how the resort blends seamlessly with the village and is just steps away from ski school (where let's be honest, I’ll be there too when not at the spa) and the main chair lift. Comfy lounge chairs and Adirondacks surround giant fire pits where guests can enjoy complimentary s’more kits or beverages from 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill at the base of the mountain. A ski valet for storing equipment makes getting on/off the mountain as stress-free as possible and walkways are heated with covered escalators so you’re not sliding around on your way to the skating rink or shops and restaurants in the village square. It offers the perfect balance of activities and relaxation in a storybook setting that turns an otherwise cold and dreary season into something magical.

Location
One of the major selling points of The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is its location right at the base of the mountain in the charming village of Beaver Creek. Shops, galleries and restaurants are right outside your doorstep. If you like sushi and seafood don’t miss dining at Hooked where fish is flown in within 24-hours of being pulled from the ocean. While known for their seafood and extensive drink list, I highly recommend saving room for the strawberry and cherry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream and sweet potato (unexpected and oh so delicious).
The hotel is about 2.5 hours from Denver International Airport. During the winter months when contending with potential highway closures it’s especially recommended to fly into Eagle Airport which is 30 minutes away.
Room Categories
Rooms are scheduled to be renovated in the upcoming year so be sure to book with your advisor who can confirm details about your room, view and possibilities for connecting rooms. I absolutely loved my view over the village center, but some guests may prefer the pure serenity of the mountains to the bustling town or slopes lit up at night. There are 80 connecting rooms/suites with either King, Two Queen or Two Double beds.
Property Amenities
A little more on the apres-ski activities. The award-winning spa includes the famous Aqua Sanitas Roman Bath experience which includes five steps of soaks, steams and saunas. Ending with a rest on the heated stone chairs successfully convinced me to go ahead and book that last minute massage. You’ll want to make reservations in advance during peak season though. Other places to unwind include the outdoor heated pool and five hot tubs. Just past the lobby, is the Brass Bear Bar with floor to ceiling windows offering stunning views of the mountain, especially at sunset.
As mentioned, the hotel rooms are being renovated in phases. If you have specific requests be sure to mention them to your travel advisor. In room dining is available until 9 PM, but the Fall Line Epicurean Market located next to the lobby is open 24/7. Bar service at the Brass Bear Bar ends at 10 PM to be respectful of noise levels for guests staying in second floor rooms in close proximity to the lounge seating overlooking the bar and lobby. Pool seating is first come, first serve unless reserving a private cabana (summer only). Dining reservations are recommended for restaurants in the vicinity during peak season.
The concierge and your travel advisor are great resources to help organize seasonal activities during your stay at Beaver Creek. The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is great for all ages, but the added convenience of getting on / off the slopes, as well as, the ski training area for beginners make it an ideal property for families to enjoy in the winter season.
