Reset & Recharge in Abu Dhabi - a Hidden Wellness Gem
Curator’s statement

Located about 2 hours outside of Abu Dhabi, is a luxury desert property that is naturally healing and restorative. Although not marketed as a wellness resort per se, this is an iconic place to reset and recharge, as well as a great spot for solo travel.

Last November, I had the pleasure of experiencing the property and literally did not want to leave - I extended my stay twice! The hotel is the only property in the middle of the desert (on the border of Saudi Arabia) and nothing else that you will see for hundreds of miles. With amazing hospitality to match, the Royal family will vacation here as well.

Best way to do the trip? I recommend adding at least 3 nights here if you are in the UAE. After visiting Dubai or Abu Dhabi proper, you should go here with a restorative-focused mindset.

I've been to many places, but this property holds a special place in my top 5.

I recommend upgrading your room to a villa or with a view of the desert so you can watch the sunrise. Here's how to maximize your time on-site and fully experience the property.

First, let's review the four pillars for a DIY wellness retreat:

-MIND: mindful food consumption

-BODY: daily movement

-SOUL: digital detox & blank space

-SETTING: wake up with the sun & fully immerse yourself in your surroundings

A female posing with a horse in the desert.
Relaxation in the desert under the sun with a beautiful sunset in the distance.

What this could look like...

AM

Sunrise private sound bath

Breakfast buffet with Turkish Coffee and/or Matcha and GF / DF treats from Chef Dee

Adults only infinity pool

Group fitness class

PM

Sunset activity

Phone-free dinner

Guided night hike / star gazing

A delicious food view of assorted fruit and fresh juice.

I'd highly recommend taking advantage and experiencing sunrise, sunset and the evening stars in the desert. Escaping the city and watching nature unfold is healing in its own right.

Need to know

The best part about this property is the wide array of curated activities that allow you to fully immerse yourself in the desert. Here are the best that I recommend:

Sunset Horseback

Sunrise Camel Ride

Private AM Sound Bath

Group Fitness Classes

Fat biking (this is hard, btw)
