Magical Celebrations at the Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood resort, near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for my 40th birthday. From the minute we booked the hotel, I experienced their wonderful and attentive service that the Rosewood hotels are so well known for. The retreat was one we will never forget.

As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted with a welcome drink, a tasty and unique margarita, and a birthday cake with sparklers! What a great way to kick off a birthday trip.

Tip: If traveling for a special occasion, let the hotel know in advance so they can prepare special surprises.

Accommodations:

The rooms in the resort are absolute perfection. We stayed in a suite with an ocean view and an upstairs sun deck to enjoy in privacy. Our suite also featured a private hot tub on the balcony. During certain times of the year, lucky guests may even witness whale-watching right from the comfort of their own balcony.

Tip: Get your breakfast delivered to the suite every morning. They will set it up on the balcony for you to enjoy a private meal together and take in the view!

We were lucky to have the upstairs balcony, and decided to partake in the "sleep under the stars" experience. The hotel staff set up a romantic scene with rose petals, champagne, an actual queen-sized bed staged on the roof of our deck and a telescope. The area around Cabo is a dark-sky preserve, allowing for incredible star gazing. It's a rare experience that will be hard to find anywhere else. I highly recommend this experience for couples. Make sure to book it in advance of your stay!

Refreshing Pools:

Most resorts in the Cabo area do not allow swimming in the ocean because of dangerous rip tides. However, the Rosewood resort boasts a series of stunning pools. Whether you prefer a refreshing swim or simply lounging by the water's edge, the pools at Las Ventanas al Paraíso offer a blissful retreat. They also include many tasty treats, such as popsicles, which are brought by the pool throughout the day.

Dining and Entertainment:

Dining at Las Ventanas al Paraíso provides a selection of delicious restaurants, each offering a unique experience. We started our trip at their signature sushi restaurant, which overlooks the ocean from the top of the resort. You definitely cannot miss the Arbol restaurant during your stay. This restaurant is unique to Las Ventanas and serves delicious Indian, Asian and raw bar cuisine.

After dinner, don’t forget to venture over to the on-premise speakeasy! Tucked away within the resort, this secret enclave pays homage to the clandestine bars of the Prohibition era. With a little help, you can find the discreet entrance and enter the special code to gain entry to this fun bar. The menu boasts a selection of handcrafted cocktails of all types. Enjoy live music and a show as the bar and alcohol are hidden every time a new guest enters.

Impeccable Service:

The hallmark of Las Ventanas al Paraíso is its impeccable service. The staff is not only attentive but also anticipates your needs, ensuring that your stay is nothing short of perfection. We were connected to our personal concierge via WhatsApp, so we could message anytime we needed something during our stay. Every day we were greeted by a new treat in our room as well as other surprises.

The resort's concierge service goes above and beyond to organize special, customized outings, in the case that you are looking to venture outside of the resort resort. Our husbands' surprised us with a private boat charter to cruise the coastline and swim in the ocean. We also separately booked a cooking class at Flora Farms, where we learned to make tamales, which was a wonderful and tasty experience.

From the breathtaking views and spacious accommodations to the exquisite dining and impeccable service, this resort truly epitomizes the essence of paradise. A stay at Las Ventanas al Paraíso is one that you are likely to not forget.
