Curator’s statement
Bai San Ho offers a tranquil escape to unwind, recharge and experience Vietnam’s serene side. Here, unspoiled landscapes, gentle rhythms and quiet luxury create a soothing retreat from the lively urban pace of Southeast Asia. The resort boasts a postcard-perfect beach with buttery-soft white sand, calm lapping waves and crystal-clear water. Sometimes, a local fisherman in a traditional basket boat adds a charming touch to the horizon. This completes one of the most pristine beach experiences in the world.

After the energetic chaos of Southeast Asia’s bustling streets, Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho provides the perfect antidote: tranquility, luxury and natural beauty. Vietnam’s bustling cities are alive with energy — buzzing motorbikes, vibrant street markets and the constant hum of activity. While thrilling and full of charm, this intensity can leave you yearning for a moment of calm, a space to reconnect with yourself and nature.

Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho was the perfect respite from the chaotic cities, as it was nothing short of a tropical paradise. Nestled across 245 acres of lush, untouched landscape, this exquisite retreat is situated in the aptly named "Bay of Corals." The resort’s setting is complete with a three-quarter-of-a-mile private crescent white-sand beach. It evokes the allure of the Seychelles with dramatic rocks, offering breathtaking vistas and unparalleled serenity.
Bai San Ho is conveniently located just a 1-hour and 20-minute drive from Quy Nhơn Phu Cat Airport (UIH). There are around 10 daily affordable flights from Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). This idyllic retreat provides the perfect opportunity to explore a less-touristed and tranquil part of Vietnam’s coast.

As you pass through the gates and take in the property for the first time, all you’ll want to do is sink into a chair, feel the gentle breeze, and sip a cocktail in pure relaxation. But beyond this irresistible allure of leisure lies a world of discovery. Guests can immerse themselves in an impressive variety of cultural and physical activities, with thoughtfully crafted excursions that unveil the cultural vibrancy, historical depth, and breathtaking natural beauty of Phu Yen province.
Every detail of Bai San Ho is designed for relaxation and exploration. Complimentary bicycles invite guests to go for a leisurely ride to discover hidden corners of this sanctuary. Buggies (golf carts) are on call to transport you through the expansive property. For ocean lovers, the resort’s namesake coral reef offers incredible snorkeling opportunities just steps from the shore, with gear provided at no extra cost. My favorite part of the resort was the luxury of strolling over three miles along paved buggy paths, winding through the property and hillside. It was pure bliss to take in the lush landscapes and breathtaking ocean views in serene silence, free from the noise of mopeds that is the soundtrack, so to speak, of SE Asia.

Guests can also partake in daily complimentary guided hikes that offer an immersive journey into the breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, guests will encounter stunning vistas of unspoiled beaches. There are dense forests, and traditional villages, with knowledgeable guides providing insights into the region's flora, fauna and cultural heritage. Whether you're seeking to reconnect with nature or simply enjoy a leisurely walk in the great outdoors, the daily hikes provide an invigorating and memorable way to explore the beauty of this hidden gem in Vietnam.
For nature enthusiasts, the resort offers opportunities to explore the region's unspoiled landscapes through activities. This includes cycling or hiking along lush rice paddies, tranquil fishing villages and rolling hills. Ocean lovers can immerse themselves in the turquoise waters of the bay with snorkeling, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, discovering vibrant coral reefs and marine life.
For those interested in culture and history, guided tours provide a glimpse into the past. This includes visits to ancient Cham ruins and traditional fishing practices that have been passed down through generations. Culinary enthusiasts can indulge in authentic Vietnamese flavors by joining market visits and cooking classes that highlight the region's fresh ingredients and unique recipes. Each experience is thoughtfully designed to offer a deeper connection to the region.
For adrenaline seekers, the resort stands out by offering a wider array of activities than typical beach destinations. Beyond the usual Hobie cats and paddleboards, guests can enjoy a fleet of zodiacs for thrilling ocean excursions, as well as tubing, windsurfing and the cutting-edge experience of e-foil hydrofoil surfing.

Other amenities include Tennis and Padel courts, a well-airconditioned fitness center and yoga studio, as well as a kids club. Like most 5-star SE Asia hotels, the spa is superb. The modern vernacular design of Zannier’s spa is rooted in local traditions, materials and cultural influences that elevate the experience.

Dining
Bai San Ho boasts three exceptional restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience. Ba Hai serves authentic, home-style Vietnamese cuisine inspired by regional traditions. It provides an immersive taste of the local culture in a unique triangle-shaped pavilion overlooking the resort’s organic garden and rice patties. Lang Chai, set along the beach, exudes the vibe of a chic Greek retreat or a stylish Tulum beach club. It offers a relaxed atmosphere where fresh seafood is grilled to perfection daily. Nah O, the resort’s main restaurant and bar is perched atop a hill with panoramic views. It features a diverse menu that seamlessly blends Southeast Asian and international flavors, catering to every palate.
Breakfast at Bai San Ho is a sensory delight, enjoyed against a stunning backdrop of sweeping hilltop views and the soothing sound of waves below. The vibrant spread beautifully combines Vietnamese traditions with international favorites. Guests can explore a generous variety of global staples and authentic local dishes from the buffet. Or enhance the experience by selecting made-to-order options from the a-la carte menu, as well as daily demonstration stations of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

Villas
There are three different villa categories: Paddy Field Villas, Hill Pool Villas and Beach Pool Villas. I stayed in the beachfront Paddy Field Villa 134 (tip: villas 131–134 are set back right behind the beach rather than on the rice fields that are a bit inland). Next time I return I will definitely be staying in a beach-pool villa! Since so many villas have their own pools, you’ll seldom see other guests at the main pool or on the beach.

Need to know
Whether you’re seeking a serene escape or an adventurous local experience, Bai San Ho delivers an exceptional slice of tropical heaven. A little birdy told me that the Mandarin Oriental has their sights set on a nearby beach. Checkout Bai San Ho before the masses discover this area!
