For me, it's the ideal place to indulge in a relaxing spa treatment and spend a tranquil day with friends or on my own.

Located in the picturesque city of Carlsbad, California, Omni La Costa Spa offers a luxurious and serene escape for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. This spa has been a favorite retreat of mine for many years, and I always leave feeling refreshed and renewed.
The spa operates Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 6 pm, and Friday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 7 pm. I highly recommend planning to spend the entire day here to take full advantage of the extensive amenities. Arriving early and staying late ensures you get the most out of your visit. While the spa recommends booking at least three weeks in advance, in my experience, it’s often possible to secure appointments with shorter notice. Despite this flexibility, advance booking is always recommended, particularly during peak times of the year.
Before booking, be sure to check the website for special offers and packages. You can anticipate the spa pool and amenities being most crowded mid-day. Early evening is an ideal time to enjoy the amenities with fewer people. At my last visit, the pool was empty after my 4:30 massage, leaving me to enjoy the jacuzzi on my own.
Upon check-in at Omni La Costa Spa, you will be escorted to the guest locker rooms, where you will be provided with a robe and slippers and given a tour if desired. The Spa Courtyard is a serene haven featuring a private pool, jacuzzi/whirlpool and Roman showers, accessible to guests on the day of their treatment.
For those on a budget who want to experience the amenities offered at Omni La Costa Spa without the price tag of a treatment, day passes are available in limited quantities, which can be checked and booked via ResortPass. However, the treatments are wonderful. I love the Osea Anti-Aging Detox Facial and the La Costa Custom Massage.

When spending the day at the spa, I particularly enjoy dining at the Spa Café as part of the overall experience. The Omni Spa Cafe is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm. While they do have a garden courtyard to enjoy your meal, I prefer to order and enjoy my meal poolside. Waitstaff circulate throughout the day to take your drink and food orders.

They offer a delightful array of nutritious and satisfying dishes. Some of my favorites are the chicken lettuce cups, chicken salad tower and albacore tuna sandwich, though you really can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Their food is beautifully presented, creating perfect opportunities for Instagram-worthy moments! I recommend bringing your credit card out with you and enjoying drinks and a leisurely lunch by the pool. My favorite way to begin a spa day at Omni La Costa is with a refreshing blood orange bellini at the pool.
The amenities at Omni La Costa Spa are comprehensive, including separate facilities for men and women, renovated changing rooms with lockers, showers equipped with high-quality products, private whirlpools, sun patios, relaxation rooms, steam rooms, saunas and soon-to-be-added salt rooms. The co-ed waiting lounge is stocked with snacks like trail mix and yogurt-covered pretzels, infused water and tea and boasts a gorgeous view onto the back patio fountain and gardens. Some of my favorite features of the Omni La Costa Spa include indulging in a soak under the Roman showers, lounging at the beautiful pool and the recently renovated steam room with aromatherapy.

The Omni La Costa Spa is perfect for girls’ trips, couples day dates, mother/daughter days, solo spa days and more. It is important to note that you must be 18 years of age or older to enter the spa facilities. They have a new spa menu launching in July 2024, so there’s always something to look forward to at this premier wellness destination.
