All-Inclusive Family Getaway to Playa Del Carmen
Curator’s statement

Planning a trip for five couples with five kids under the age of two is no easy feat. After months of searching for the perfect beach side all-inclusive resort, we booked at the Paradisus Playa Del Carmen a Melia Resort. The fifteen of us descended on the resort in April of 2023 and were thrilled with the swim-up suites, the attentive staff and the excellent food options. If you're looking for an excellent all-inclusive on the Riviera Maya catering to families, I would highly recommend them.

The Paradisus Playa Del Carmen is located forty-five minutes south of Cancun International Airport. We chose Playa Del Carmen for the quieter atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the Cancun Beaches. While we made plans to go into the city and visit Playa Del Carmen, ultimately we loved the relaxing atmosphere of the resort so much, we ended up never leaving the property .

Our family stayed in a Nikté one-bedroom swim up suite. Nikté is Mayan for a "water flower." Their website describes it as a "unique plant that exudes elegance, peace and beauty. Nikté seeks to satisfy our distinguished guests' ultimate desire for luxury and comfort." Our Nikté concierge was available 24/7 on Whatsapp and took care of booking all of our reservations, leaving us special treats and answering all of our questions. The upgrade to the Nikte experience was well worth the price.

My daughter loves the water and when we walked out of our balcony directly into the pool she was in heaven. We could swim between our friends suites and the bar. One of the few resorts who's Kids Club would take kids as young as age one, it was the main reason we choose the hotel and it did not disappoint.

We enjoyed being able to drop the little ones off and have a drink or a meal. The restaurants were very kid friendly with excellent high chairs and stroller parking. At night we used their babysitting service so the adults could hang out, which was extremely fun. The kids loved their sitters and we had zero complaints, except from the adults who might have indulged too much the night before...

I recommend the Paradisus Playa Del Carmen to families looking for a hassle-free vacation with excellent food and service. There's also an adults-only side of the resort that would be great for couples or a girl's getaway.
