Site Inspection at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa in Incline Village, Nevada
Curator’s statement

In December 2023, I did a site inspection while staying at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa. The Hyatt brand shined at this well decorated resort close to all South Lake Tahoe has to offer. It is a comfortable, mid-range option I would not hesitate to recommend to my clients.

I was looking forward to this visit before arrival due to the reservations team proactive communication. Shortly after booking, they contacted me to confirm a room upgrade. I mentioned that we were traveling with extended family and would like connecting rooms and she upgraded them too!

The good vibes start upon arrival with a warm welcome from the attentive valet. We were ushered to the priority check in desk and offered a glass of champagne! They also give you your s'mores kit to use at the fire pits. This was a crowd pleaser for the whole family!

Since we visited in early December the hotel was decked out in it's festive decor. It was beautiful!

The rooms are nicely appointed and quiet. We didn't have any noise from our connecting room either. We stayed in the king room with balcony overlooking the pool. These rooms were located in the lower building, not the tower and seemed quieter.

The pool is heated and has an inside entry for colder weather. There's also a few hot tubs dotted around the pool deck that were nice and toasty.

The spa is located near the pool. It has a small boutique with clothes, swimsuits and beauty products. They had treatment rooms for massage and facials. The spa was nice but I didn't enjoy my massage. When I told the spa manager she acted rather snooty about it then finally relented and removed 20% off the service. Which is equivalent to the 20% automatic gratuity they add to services...this basically left me feeling like I cheated my masseuse out of his tip.

The included breakfast buffet is pretty good. The a la carte options are tastier. There's also a little coffee stand/market that serves some lighter options for breakfast and lunch as well as sells snacks and libations.

A hotel lobby with a decorated Christmas tree in the middle

The hotel is also a casino but its easy to ignore. There was no smoke intrusion from the casino into the hotel (a big pet peeve of mine). Located next to the casino is a sports bar that serves up a decent pizza.

The other thing to note is the hotel is extremely dog friendly. We might've been the only patrons without a four legged friend in tow! They are accommodating with water bowls, treats, etc.

Need to know

I think this property would be a fantastic option for a wedding! It also serves well for multi-gen trips with tons of activities year round.
