Mondrian Mexico City Condesa: A Trip Report
Curator’s statement

For my first trip to Mexico City, the Mondrian Mexico City Condesa was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. This hotel is right at the middle of two of Mexico City's most lively neighborhoods. It's a great place to explore the best of Mexico City. From the moment we stepped into the sleek, art-filled lobby, I knew we were in for something special.

After a long travel day, we were pleasantly surprised by how seamless our arrival in Mexico City was. The drive from Benito Juárez Airport to the Mondrian Mexico City Condesa was quick—less than a 30-minute Uber ride, and only around $10-$15.

As we pulled up to the Mondrian, the friendly door staff warmly greeted us and guided us to the check-in desk. The hotel lobby immediately set the tone for our stay—modern, chic, and full of character. With interactive elements, comfy lounge swings, and even pool tables, it’s a space that invites you to unwind and socialize.

Thanks to our booking through Fora, we were treated to a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a nice surprise. When we got to our room, we found a thoughtful welcome note and a sweet treat waiting for us—such a warm touch! The room itself was a stylish blend of modern updates and vibrant art. And one of my personal favorites? The spacious bathroom, which added a touch of luxury to our stay.

After freshening up from our travel day, we made our way to the hotel’s rooftop spot, Skybar. The rooftop terrace offered stunning views of the city's skyline, with mood lighting that set the perfect vibe for a night out. It was the ideal place to kick off our trip, starting with our first of many tequila shots and a cold cervezas.

Skybar was buzzing with energy—definitely the place to be for an evening celebration. We couldn’t resist trying the food, and the pork belly tacos were a standout. As the night went on, the live DJ kept the party going, with plenty of dancing and good times. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or celebrating with friends, Skybar is a must-visit.

The Mondrian Condesa’s complimentary concierge service was a game-changer as we planned our 3-day city adventure. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond with recommendations to make sure we experienced the best of Mexico City.

Sharing a building with the Andaz Mexico City Condesa, we also had access to some of their amenities, which was a nice bonus. After a long day of exploring, we treated ourselves to a couples massage and a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi at Pasana Spa and Wellness at the Andaz. It was the perfect way to unwind and recharge for the days ahead.

If you're in need of a quick lunch or a late-night snack, La Terazza offers a relaxed terrace with a full bar and menu. I enjoyed an espresso martini by the fire as we recapped our day and planned for the next adventure. The cozy lounge seating makes it a great spot to relax with an afternoon cocktail or a nightcap.

Need to know

Although our stay in Mexico City was brief, we found the perfect balance between exploring the city and enjoying the comforts of the property. That alone speaks to how inviting the Mondrian Condesa is. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mexico City. It’s centrally located, affordable yet upscale, and offers a variety of convenient services on-site.
