Independence Park Hotel, BW Premier Collection is a wonderful gem located in the heart of the historic Old City section of Philadelphia. It is a fully renovated, nationally registered historic hotel. Very comfortable rooms, cozy and warm on chilly Fall evenings. Friendly and attentive service team. This hotel is excellent for families, couples and solo travelers. The best part is the location. The hotel is within short walking distance to all the major museums, monuments, restaurants and parks. The Museum of the American Revolution is literally across the street. On a crisp October day in Philadelphia, the trees were wonderful shades of autumn green, orange, yellow and red. As I visited Independence Hall, a slight breeze shook the leaves, and I imagined hearing those famous words that changed the world on July 4, 1776

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - The United States Declaration of Independence

What transpired in Philadelphia with the creation of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution changed American history. It also influenced world history.

According to the Global Philadelphia Association, a non-profit that amplifies Philadelphia’s significance nationally and internationally, UNESCO was founded after WWII to foster collaboration among nations through education and contributions to peace and security. UNESCO is best known for the formal identification of World Heritage Sites. Independence Hall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Philadelphia became a World Heritage City by joining The Organization of World Heritage Cities, a network of 330 cities worldwide with at least one UNESCO World Heritage site in their city.

As our nation’s first capital, Philadelphia is steeped in history. In an area called Old City, one can visit the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, The Constitution Center, The President's House Site (George Washington lived there), Betsy Ross House, Franklin Court (Benjamin Franklin House) and even Elfreth’s Alley, which proudly retains the homes of British colonists. The Old City also contains fantastic restaurants, bookstores, small theaters, art galleries, pubs, boutiques and nightlife venues.

Creatives thrive in Philadelphia, from art houses to world-class music venues. Philadelphia is home to 4,000 public murals. The city is driven by the energy and the fortunes of its sports teams. Die-hard fans cheer in excitement of every pitch of the Philadelphia Phillies, every free throw of the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers and every touchdown of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Need to know

The best seasons to visit Philadelphia are during the late Spring, May into June and mid-Fall, September through October. The weather is delightful. The trees and parks are full of color! Philadelphia is home to many colleges and universities, so there is the energy of new semesters and the excitement of fall sports teams.
