Curator’s statement
In May of 2024, I did a site inspection while staying at the beautiful Maslina Resort in Stari Grad, Croatia. You can find luxury at every turn in this laid-back but incredibly chic property on the lesser-traveled Croatian coast. Design lovers, this is the one.

Location
The hotel is located on the Maslinica Bay on Hvar Island, just about a 20-minute drive from the bustling Hvar Port. While only 20 minutes walk into the old town of Stari Grad. Open your gorgeous terrace to views of the adriactic sea and lush pine forests. Maslina is a vacation for the senses. You can't help but feel at peace at this beautiful resort.
Rooms
Maslina has 50 rooms and suites, with three pretty show-stopping villas. All accommodations were designed with comfort, privacy and luxury in mind. Soft warm tones, natural woods, deep soaking tubs and ocean views are some of what you can expect at Maslina. Sleeping in is fully encouraged in these exceptionally comfortable beds.
Service
Attentive but not overbearing. The staff at Maslina are warm and helpful.
Activities
Wellness is taken seriously at Maslina. They make sure you have everything you need to truly unwind. Spend a day (or several) at the beautiful, state-of-the-art spa with various treatments and Biologique Recherche products. The gym is one I'd want to visit (if you're into that sort of thing), and guests can enjoy yoga classes and other holistic experiences. When you've finished at the spa, the picture-perfect pool and beach club beckon. Lounge chairs set up on the rocks give you the ultimate european beach experience.
Food
On property you can find the Michelin-recommended restaurant, a beach bar and a bar serving up local ingredients. The cuisine is an ode to the Mediterranean diet but elevated and often with a twist.
Off-property
From the resort, you have a great walking/running/biking path that follows the bay right into old town Stari Grad. From here, you can explore the old town and grab a bite to eat. We opted for an e-bike tour of the area into a wine tasting, which I'd highly recommend. You can also easily set up a boat day with a pick-up from Maslina or Stari Grad town to explore the islands of Vis, Brac, etc.
Need to know
Maslina is the perfect add on after a few nights in lively Hvar, to unwind and enjoy some spectacular views. I promise this is a place you'll want to visit again and again. I will absolutely be returning. Reach out to plan your next Croatian vacation with me!
