Curator’s statement
Recently I stayed at this gorgeous, family-owned, luxury, lake-front property in South Lake Tahoe, which is a one hour drive from the Reno airport. I’ve stayed at several properties in South Lake Tahoe and this was my favorite by far.

The hotel first opened in 2017, but the iconic golf course has been open since the late 60s. There are 154 rooms total. The lodge is split between lake-view rooms and resort view rooms, although only 57 of the 154 are lake view, meaning the majority are resort view. There are 10 suites total, all of which connect to double-queen rooms.
They currently have 7 villas and are expecting 7 additional villas to be built in the next several months. Options range from 2, 3 and 5 bedroom which sleeps up to 14. They’re building more 2, 3 and 4-bedroom options. Within the villas, all bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and there’s an additional 1/2 bath in the living room.
Edgewood is both romantic for couples and family-friendly, though they do not have a kids club. They are considering building a family/kid pool in the near future.
They have a beautiful pool and hot tub with bar service. They also have their own private pier on the water where you can rent boats, paddle boards and kayaks. This service runs Memorial- Labor Day. They also have giant checker boards, jenga, bocci and corn hole available to play near the lake. They hand out smores nightly and have different programming weekly, such as outdoor movie nights and stargazing, depending on the season.
They have 3 different restaurants- a more casual bistro, brooks bar and deck and a fine dining option. They have a great coffee shop, boutique, several fire pits, adirondack chairs that line the water, which are perfect for sunset viewing, a gym and a gorgeous spa. In the winter, they build an ice skating rink on-site and have ski butlers on property for rentals.
Their golf course is gorgeous. They encourage guests to book tee times as early as possible - as soon as you book your rooms. Tee times open to the public 2 months in advance of when you’re booking.
They also have a house Navigator and Sprinter that shuttles people over to town (although it’s also a close walk) and to Heavenly Mountain on both the California and Nevada side.
Lastly, Edgewood would be a terrific option for an event such as a company off-site or wedding.
Need to know
If you’re looking for a luxury hotel stay that’s truly on the water in Lake Tahoe- Edgewood is a fantastic option for couples, families and golf/ski enthusiasts both in the summer and winter. It’s also only a 3-hour drive to Napa, which would pair well for individuals who are looking to plan a longer California visit.
