Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, St. Martin and St. Maarten collectively form an enchanting island with a dual personality.
French Flair
Venture into the French side (Saint Martin), where the quaint streets of Marigot beckon with chic boutiques and bistros. Feel the allure of the open-air markets, where vibrant spices and local crafts create a sensory masterpiece. Indulge in a culinary journey – from escargot in cozy bistros to the sweet melody of French pastries. The ambiance is a harmonious blend of Caribbean warmth and French sophistication, offering a retreat for those seeking laid-back elegance.
Take a leisurely stroll through Marigot's artsy streets, where local creatives turn the town into a vibrant gallery. Discover hidden gems, quirky sculptures and maybe even catch an impromptu street performance. If you’re a fan, keep an eye out for pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat as you explore the isle.
Dutch Delights
On the Dutch side (Sint Maarten), Philipsburg's lively boardwalk is a spectacle of colors and energy. Dive into duty-free shopping, where the latest trends meet island charm. For history buffs, Fort Amsterdam stands as a testament to the island's rich past. Within five minutes of the airport, Maho Village also has plenty to offer from beach bars with a view and a casino for those who like to roll the dice. During the day check out flights coming in and out (from a safe distance) directly over Maho beach. When it comes to sun sets pull up a chair and grab a cocktail at the Sunset beach bar.
Looking for a little more movement, embark on a scenic hike through Loterie Farm's lush trails. Discover hidden waterfalls and diverse flora, or experience the thrill of horseback riding along the picturesque coastline, immersing yourself in the natural beauty that Sint Maarten's Dutch side has to offer.
Regardless of your preference, both sides share a common canvas of stunning beaches. From the pristine sands of Orient Bay to the tranquil shores of Maho Beach, each offers a unique flavor. Whether you seek serenity or adventure, St. Martin's beaches are a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and water activities. Soak in the sun's embrace, dive into azure waters, and let the island's charm wash over you.

Need to know
The island of Sint Maarten/St. Martin can be a gorgeous weekend getaway or winter escape. Having spend the holidays on the island make sure to make dinner reservations for Christmas/New Years in advance to secure the option you really want.
For my beach goers while there are plenty of options head to one that matches your beach going styles, here’s just a few:
Maho Beach is famous for its proximity to Princess Juliana International Airport, offering a thrilling experience as airplanes land just overhead and brilliant sunsets and fun beach bars.
Mullet Bay is renowned for its expansive golden sands but may not always be as calm as described. I recommend it for people who are very comfortable with waves.
Great Bay Beach combines a beautiful sandy stretch with calm waters and a bustling boardwalk. It's an ideal choice for those who want to lounge waterfront under an umbrella but still be near the lively atmosphere of the Dutch side's main town.
