The most populous and popular area to stay is the village of Courchevel 1850, named for its height in meters. This is where you will find many luxury hotels and plenty of restaurants. A few favorites are:
Cheval Blanc Courchevel
Cheval Blanc Courchevel is a contemporary ski-in/ski-out hotel set in Jardin Alpin of Courchevel with direct access to the Trois Vallées, the world's largest ski domain. Each room has generous living spaces opening up on a private terrace or balcony. Dining options led by Chef Yannick Alleno offer French tradition with creativity, plus three-Michelin-Star fine dining to a fireside afternoon tea. The Cheval Blanc Spa offers luxurious treatments by Guerlain. Custom experiences are also offered to pamper every guest.
Chabichou
A beautiful mountain-modern Relais and Chateaux property. Great for the whole family with a kids' and teens' club and a spa for the adults. The legendary white chalet of Le Chabichou is an incredible setting in the heart of Les Trois Vallées. This luxury hotel includes a gourmet restaurant with two Michelin stars serving cuisine by the chef Stéphane Buron; the mountain restaurant Le Sidonie featuring local Savoyard specialties and delicious tapas by Stéphane Buron; and with the restaurant La Ferme Saint-Amour. Families can also enjoy staying in a three-bedroom suite.
L'Apogee
L'Apogee Courchevel is located on the very top of the former Olympic ski jump with amazing views all the way down the valley. The penthouse and chalets are designed with a rooftop jacuzzi and private spas. Skiers and their families can enjoy ski-in/ski-out facilities and a first-class ski room. If you don't ski, there are other snow activities from sledding to snowshoe safaris. There is also shopping on site. Le Spa de L'Apogee is a destination with pure therapy and a beautiful pool. The children have a VIP club, which is the largest in Courchevel 1850. They offer a French menu in Le Comptoir de L'Apogee and Japanese in Koori, plus Le Bar de L'Apogee and a snug cigar lounge.
Le K2 Altitude
This Tibetan-inspired hotel sits above the village at 1900 meters above Courchevel 1850 — a unique hotel concept of 11 interconnected chalets along the Pralong piste. Enjoy the spa and traditional French cuisine with exceptional service.
Hotel Barriere La Neige
This hotel offers 42 rooms and is renowned for 100 years of hospitality and service. You will be walking distance to the village center and easy ski-in/ski-out access. Have your skis tuned every night, ready to go in the morning. You will be pampered at every turn. When you return from the slopes, they will help remove your boots to trade for slippers and take your gear for you. The large spa, 10500 square feet, has a 66-foot-long pool and a 400-square-foot walk-in jacuzzi, hammam, sauna, cold pool and outside jacuzzi. There is entertainment for families with a kids' club for the little ones, and for teenagers an indoor movie theater and private outdoor ice-skating rink. There are three restaurants, including Fouquets Brasserie, a large sunny terrace directly on the slopes, and an Argentinian restaurant. There is also a concierge service with free shuttle service to the village. The Barriere has been renowned for 100 years in France for its experience in brilliant hospitality service.
Moving down the valley to Courchevel Moriand at 1650 meters are a few more choices:
Farenheit Seven
This is a ski-in/ski-out hotel on the slopes of Courchevel 1650. This boutique hotel is an alpine chalet, but decorated with a '70s Parisian style, with saturated colors, late-modernist furniture and retro touches like rotary phones. Everything else is modern, of course. For dining, there is the Rotisserie restaurant and the Zinc bar. The cable cars to Courchevel 1850 and the Trois Vallées are also easily accessible.
Manali Lodge
This all-suites boutique hotel is a five-star easy ski-in/ski-out lodge. Each suite is more like an apartment with its own unique charm, accommodating six to 11 guests each. Kitchens, living area and relaxing comfort. Spa, pool, gym and dining at a bistro with a view or a sushi restaurant. This is a great way to have hotel amenities but a chalet rental setup.
The next village is Courchevel Village at 1550. This is a quieter area with less of a scene.
Les Flocons
This is a three-star hotel with 30 rooms and suites with the typical charm of a mountain chalet and a great view. There is a restaurant, bar lounge, wellness area and south-facing terrace overlooking the Children’s Village.
Le Praz at 1300 meters is a six-minute gondola ride to 1850, so all very accessible.
Les Peupliers
Comfortable mountain-chic rooms with lots of light, close to the slopes. Located in the heart of the small village of Courchevel Le Praz, at the foot of the forest, by the lake and at the start of the discovery trails. Spa, restaurant and easy skiing access.
The hotels of Courchevel, France, are vast and diverse, and there is certainly something for everyone.
Need to know
If you are willing to splurge and want to be in on the action, Courchevel 1850 is the place to be. But all of the other villages have something to offer and so many activities to choose from. And don't forget, you are in the Trois Vallees, so you can ski between all three resorts!
