Curator’s statement
In July of 2024, I had the pleasure of staying two nights at the newest Roman gem, Casa Monti. This hotel seamlessly weaves traditional roman elements with a fun, whimsical design style. The staff were warm and provided small touches to make our stay wonderful, like martini slippers at turndown service. I loved this quiet neighborhood and would definitely like to visit again asap.

Location
The boutique property is located in the Monti neighborhood of Rome. This area is known to be a little more local, away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. That said, the location is still super convenient for site-seeing, as the Colosseum is just a short walk away.
Hotel
Casa Monti is a five-star boutique property with 26 rooms and 10 suites. Each room is carefully curated for a stay that makes you feel like you're in someone's chic bedroom. The colors are warm and fun throughout. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the tiled bathrooms are spacious and beautiful. Some of the suites have outdoor terraces that look out to a very quiet street.
Dining & Drinking
The rooftop bar serves delicious drinks, great views and is a fun place to unwind for an aperitivo. Downstairs you'll find a bar in the lobby, the restaurant where you can dine indoors or outdoors and a little courtyard terrace in between. The spaces are thoughtful and encourage getting together.
Spa
The spa has a roman-style jacuzzi, treatment rooms and an outdoor terrace. It felt very Wes Anderson in here in the best way possible. The spa and hotel uses Susana Kauffman products.
Service
The staff was friendly, warm, and the answer was always yes.
Off property
Highly recommend walking over the colosseum from here and soaking it all in. There is also a great little wine bar with delightful bites walking-distanced called La Barrique. There is so much to do and see in Rome, from the major sites: Vatican, Pantheon, Roman Forum, to delicious dining (if you know where to look). Piatto Romano, is a bit off the beaten path, but I promise you won't be disappointed in this local restaurant with an ever-changing seasonal menu.
Need to know
I reccommend Casa Monti to my clients looking for a unique boutique property away from the crowds of Rome. Here you will find a little peace & quiet, delicious cocktails, comfortable sleeps and a little whimsy. It is great for couples, friends and the larger suites would work well for families.
