Curator’s statement
In January 2024, we visited the Aman Venice over a long weekend trip to the Italian city, touring the property's accommodations and event spaces as well as the bar and restaurant menus. As most have come to expect of the Aman brand, the property delivered exceptional quality alongside five-star service and a luxurious, quiet atmosphere. I would highly recommend this to any client, and look forward to staying there on my next trip to Venice.

Centrally located in the floating city, the Aman Venice offers a stunning Venetian residential experience as it occupies a historical palazzo on the Grand Canal - in fact, the top floor of the Palazzo Papadapoli is still occupied by the Count and Countess Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga, whose family has owned the property for generations. Not far from the Rialto bridge, the Aman Venice sits like a glimpse into the past, offering a view of quiet luxury in the wonderfully maintained frescoes, original floors, and intricate details.
Light-soaked rooms appear throughout the residence, with hidden suite doors, a hanging foot and a chapel-turned-dining room some of the unique highlights. While the first floor emphasizes the beauty of the historical salons, the second floor is guest-only, and offers a simple, modern view on the building's space. The bar and restaurant serve exquisite food and beverages, and we were blessed to have the chef come speak with us before ordering dinner - everything we consumed was incredible, and the wine list is enviable.
One of the most special parts of the Aman Venice is the rare garden space, offering an idyllic sanctuary from the bustle of the city. The property also has a small spa, with three treatment rooms, for those looking for a massage or facial. Overall, the Aman provides both a haven and historical journey for those seeking luxurious accommodation in Venice.
Need to know
Similar to other Aman properties, the Aman Venice is a bit more secluded than some other hotels in Venice; it is also smaller, with an emphasis on providing a number of beautiful common spaces and unique rooms as opposed to squeezing more capacity out of the historical space (the property has 24 one-of-a-kind rooms on site). This is the perfect property for those seeking an oasis within the city and a truly Venetian palazzo experience (the frescoes on the 1st floor are absolutely gorgeous, and much of the building is original).
