The main building

The property

Located just a short 12-minute walk from the town center, Awa Boutique hotel offers guests a slice of serenity and convenience. The hotel is small, but don’t let that fool you. There are two pools, one on the ground floor and the other on the rooftop, providing guests with breathtaking views of the ocean and sunset. The rooftop infinity pool has a small bar (Viento), a few loungers and bar seating. The larger pool on the ground floor is serviced by Fuego and certain rooms can access it directly.

Rooftop pool

This beachfront hotel has plenty of sun beds, loungers and a few cabanas so guests can relax in comfort. The hotel also offers guests use of their kayaks. Fuego, the main bar and restaurant, serves delicious food and drink all day and into the evening. There are three cabanas open for guest use and three large oceanfront sun beds. Depending on the tide, loungers are set up on the beach for more relaxation.

Beachside cabanas

As the sun sets, the hotel transforms into a picturesque setting. The fire pits get lit and the gentle aroma of Palo Santo fills the air, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a beautiful sunset. With the combination of beachside relaxation and luxurious amenities, Awa Boutique Hotel creates a perfect seaside getaway for all guests.

Awa Boutique Hotel offers two restaurants, Fuego and Terra, and a rooftop bar, Viento. Terra provides breakfast — try their Benedicts, which are served on their own oven-roasted sourdough. Fuego serves poolside/beachside lunch and snacks throughout the day and their menu stays the same for dinner. If you want a more fine-dining dinner experience, Terra re-opens for dinner and is located at street level. The octopus was fabulous, as was the tenderloin. Don’t forget to grab a happy hour margarita on the rooftop at Viento for sunset.

Sunset at Fuego

The rooms

There are six different styles of suites to choose from, depending on if you prefer being on the ground floor with swim-up pool access or a soaking tub nestled on the balcony overlooking the ocean, or perhaps the Master Suite with a private rooftop space and large soaking tub. Choose from either a single king bed or two queen beds. Each room is thoughtfully handcrafted, featuring natural colors and organic fibers that create a serene, bohemian-inspired retreat.

The Fuego Suite

In my opinion, this is the best room — top floor, corner ocean view, with a balcony. The Fuego Suite not only has the best views of the entire property, but it also has spectacular views of the sunset. This third-floor, cozy oceanfront room offers a king-size bed, out-of bathroom canopy shower and a soaking tub on the balcony. Enjoy a restful night's sleep with your doors open listening to the sound of the ocean.

The AWA Suite

The AWA Suite is a great choice for the budget-friendly traveler who is looking to relax poolside or take a dip directly from their room. These ground-floor king suites offer either private in-pool hammocks or in-pool lounging tubs. Immerse yourself in the pool directly from your balcony steps or your lounge tub.

Need to know

There are plenty of options at AWA to accommodate every traveler, whether you prefer a king-size bed or two queen beds, ocean views with a balcony, beachfront on the first floor or poolside with a swim-up step. The intimate nature of this boutique hotel not only provides you with high-quality amenities, but also personalized service, greater flexibility (like early check-in / late check-out) and a peaceful, quiet setting.

Holbox offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Known for its pristine beaches, wildlife encounters and colorful local culture, Holbox offers opportunities for unique experiences like swimming with whale sharks during the summer, kayaking through the bioluminescence and mangroves, snorkeling with turtles and sunbathing with flamingos along the sandbars.
