In the heart of the New Orleans French Quarter, on the quiet block of St. Ann Street, this hotel is close to many popular attractions and between several nearby neighborhoods with more to offer. Though centrally located, once you step into the lobby and walk through the property, it's almost like you’ve been transported in time. The unique layout of the hotel could be tricky to navigate at first, but the friendly staff will guide you to your room.

Exposed brick, high ceilings, and gold fixtures are just some of the features that add to the hotel’s charm. Showcasing a large courtyard for gatherings and a small pool area to cool off in the summer, you’ll find yourself wanting to enjoy the outdoor space. Lucky for me, my room faced the courtyard on the second floor and the view was beautiful at sunset and early morning. They also have rooms facing the street with a small balcony, which would be great for enjoying your cup of coffee or admiring the city’s beauty from above!

The nearby neighborhoods of the Arts District, the Marigny, the Bywater, and the Garden District are easy to get to by car (the hotel does have parking), streetcar, or even by walking. Discover your favorite beignet shop and make sure to try some traditional New Orleans staples such as gumbo, jambalaya, and a po’ boy sandwich. You can walk to the famous Bourbon Street strip, unique boutique shops, and restaurants without having to stay in the crowded, noisy center. Beyond the night-life, New Orleans is a culturally rich, historic, family-friendly city to explore all year round.

Need to know

I highly recommend Place d’Armes for my clients wanting modern amenities in a classic boutique-style hotel near everything the French Quarter has to offer. More importantly, although centrally located, this hotel is not in the center of the most crowded streets. Whether you’re visiting New Orleans with the kids, throwing a bachelor party, attending a conference, or on a couple’s getaway, you will have plenty of activities to pick from to enjoy your stay in The Big Easy.
