Curator’s statement
Discovering distinctive wines and exploring lesser-known wine appellations is a true delight for any wine enthusiast. As a frequent visitor to the Bergerac wine region, I can assure you it promises an unforgettable experience, allowing connoisseurs to immerse themselves in a region rich with tradition. In contrast to its famous neighbor Bordeaux, Bergerac enchants with its intimate, family-run vineyards, where winemakers warmly invite you to join them on their journey making exceptional wines.

The region's diverse offerings—from robust reds, crisp whites and méthode traditionnelle Crémant sparkling, to the famous, golden Monbazillac dessert wines—ensure every palate is delighted. Bringing home Bergerac wines means carrying back exceptional bottles, that often-rival Bordeaux’s, at a fraction of the cost.
Below is a list of some of my favorite wineries, vineyards and cave à vins to visit and purchase wine from. Booking tours ahead of time is essential—many of the venues also offer lunch and immersive experiences to enhance your visit further.
