Site Inspection at Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I fell in love with The Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel the moment we pulled up. Built in 1949, this hotel has everything you could want for a relaxing stay in Fort Lauderdale. From the two pools — one lobby-level and one on the eighth-floor rooftop overlooking the canals of Fort Lauderdale — to La Fuga, a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant that serves handmade pastas and the perfect Negroni, and all the added amenities they offer, this stay will be one you'll remember.

The Shorebreak has a perfect retro-vintage feel without being outdated, the guest rooms are spacious and full of light and natural hues, and have the ideal balance of modern and again that vintage touch. All rooms are stocked with everything you could need for a day at the beach — beach bag and towels — a yoga mat for those complimentary beachside yoga classes, Atelier Bloem bath amenities and a Marshall Bluetooth speaker. The amazing courtyards scattered throughout the property include everything from comfortable seating to firepits and putting courses. And let's not forget about the incredible staff — from the front desk to housekeeping, they go above and beyond.

I also want to mention three pretty incredible programs that I think set Kimpton apart, one for pets, one for plants and one for families.

They have pet-friendly accommodations that don't require a deposit or fees. You also get complimentary access to Wag! Premium pet walking, boarding or sitting services during your stay (including 10 percent off all services booked, waived booking fees and 24/7 access to licensed veterinary professionals).

Now, the plants: with the "Kimpton Plant Pals Program," guests can ask to have a plant placed in their room. You just need to request this at the front desk.

Lastly, their complimentary "On-Demand Family Fridge Program" helps guests safely store breast milk while staying at the hotel. You can request a "Mini Me Milk Fridge" and it will be delivered to your room for your personal use.
