Curator’s statement
I had the opportunity to tour Chateau Voltaire while wandering around Paris. It is a newly renovated boutique hotel in the 2nd ARR located between the Jardin des Tuileries, the Opera Garnier and the Louvre. The hotel offers 31 rooms and 1 suite. It is right in the heart of the city so it is perfect for someone that wants to hit all of the tourist spots while staying in a high end area with great shopping. The hotel now resides in the old Zadig and Voltaire headquarters and is owned by the founder himself.

Dining: The hotel offers a French bistro on site with a Mediterranean flare that is open from breakfast until dinner. All food served in the restaurant can be ordered directly to the room. There is also a speakeasy type bar where you can order any cocktail you desire.
Spa: Downstairs, guests have access to a relaxation tub, hot stone, sauna and cold shower, all complementary. Guests can also receive massages in their rooms for increased comfort at an additional cost.
Perks: While the hotel is independently owned, the hotel states they will offer amenities similar to Virtuoso, including early check in and late check out, complimentary breakfast, complimentary wine and tapas at their bistro.
Several Room Categories: Superior room: 21 m², shower only, Deluxe Room: 26 m², bathroom with shower, Deluxe Voltaire Room: Same size as Deluxe room with small sitting area and bathtub only, Prestige Room: 29 m², shower only, no sitting area. Prestige Voltaire Room: I toured this room, and it was spacious with room to move about, including a large bathroom with a tub and shower. Junior Suite: 34 m², sitting area and shower. Standard room rates beginning around 800 EUR. Keep in mind there are no connecting rooms.
Suite Voltaire: I was also able to tour this spacious, 76 m² room which boasted a large terrace overlooking the city streets, a large meeting room, 1 full bath with shower and bathtub and one-half bath and a small kitchen.
Overall, I was very pleased with the property when considering the lower category rooms. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the hotel smelled incredible and you could tell it was newly renovated and well kept. I would recommend this hotel for a young couple exploring the city that wishes to be centrally located.
