Beautiful tropical pathways at Cheval Blanc St Barths
From the time you step foot on the island until the time you leave, it really feels like you're in another world. You feel instantly relaxed on arrival (once you are over the steep landing on the VERY short airstrip!) with quick airport procedures and a warm welcome from your hotel arrival team. You are quickly thrown into paradise driving past beautiful landscapes and residences.
Accommodations on the island are numerous and are all upscale, with their own personalities and excellent service. Accommodations range from hotels to resorts to private villas, so there is something to suit all tastes, whether you are a couple looking to escape or a multi-generational family celebrating a special occasion.

One of my favorites is Gyp Sea St. Barths with its tropical vibes and great views! The property also has its own beach club in St. Jean and has recently opened some beach houses, too. Rosewood Le Guanahani is great for families, with beautiful bungalows, ocean views, an extensive spa and a kids' club. And a trip to St. Barths would not be complete without mentioning Cheval Blanc with its pastel-pink color scheme, one of the best stretches of beach on the island and a real sense of place with this French brand in a French territory.

If you know anything about St. Barths, you know that the days don’t stop when the sun goes down! Get ready to dress up for some wonderful dining experiences, cabaret or parties into the night if you are so inclined.
When I visited St. Barths, it was somewhere that really felt like home, and that doesn’t happen very often – I guess that’s the reason it has a high price tag! If you are looking for somewhere truly fabulous, then St. Barths is it, but get ready to close your eyes and swipe the AMEX – the experience is for the NOW, the bill for another day!

Need to know
Access to the island is either via a short 15-minute plane ride from St. Martin or from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Going via San Juan means you can clear US customs there on your return journey, making it a quicker entrance back to your home airport. A combination of both is also possible, depending on what you prefer.
