Review: JW Masai Mara, an All-inclusive Kenyan Safari

We experienced the ultimate luxury safari at one of Kenya's most sought-after destinations. Immersing ourselves in the all-inclusive travel lodge, located in the heart of the magical Masai Mara National Reserve. Here we witnessed the great wildebeest migration, one of the most spectacular natural phenomena, from the comfort of our jeep.

The expansive national park, a Big Five territory, made it easier to spot lions, elephants and buffaloes in their natural habitat. With two game drives a day, we explored the rich biodiversity of the reserve, where zebras, giraffes and gazelles thrived.

Each day, our expert driver took us on a scenic, informative excursion, and we captured it all using the lodge's professional-grade camera, the Canon EOS R6 Mark II, for free. Other amenities include laundry service — up to 5 items per guest per day — Vortex Viper Binoculars, a gym, spa and pool for your convenience.

A highlight was during our last game drive. I was presented with a birthday surprise: a picnic replete with champagne and delicious nibbles to celebrate my special day. As the sun set, the celebration continued. The local Masai staff serenaded me with a birthday song and dance at dinner, making it a memorable experience.

As noted, the lodge’s staff was top-notch. The team's outstanding service and attentiveness left nothing to chance. The head chef appeared from time to time to ensure that our meals were to our liking. Ultimately, each smile, each greeting and each conversation filled us with a deeper satisfaction for choosing this location.
