Jacumba: Southern California's Best Kept Secret
Curator’s statement

In August of 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel for a weekend getaway. Only an hour from San Diego, arriving in Jacumba feels worlds away. The staff were above and beyond friendly and knowledgable, which only added to the incredibly relaxing environment they've so carefully curated. I would absolutely recommend to adults-only travelers and cannot wait to visit again.

Hotel Entrance

Staying at Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is like hitting the pause button on life and immersing yourself in a hidden desert paradise. The unique journey starts at arrival, where you shouldn't expect the typical hotel lobby for your arrival experience. Instead, you'll find yourself in a chic trailer, tucked away right in front of the hotel. The friendly staff will welcome you with a warm greeting and cool beverage, where you'll grab your wrist band that acts as your key to the property. After checking in, another member of their team will give you a guided tour of the property (listen closely for insider tips!) before leaving you at your room.

Hotel Bedroom

The hotel is thoughtfully curated, a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern relaxation. The mineral-rich hot springs live up to their rejuvenating claims. They also offer bench seating around both pools (a perfect seat for enjoying that book you've been wanting to read while soaking up the health benefits) in addition to the most comfortable loungers and beautiful cabanas. The Solstice pool is reserved for hotel guests, but for travelers short on time, Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel also offers day passes to enjoy the Ritual pool.

Entrance to Hotel Pools

The serene atmosphere and natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert provides the perfect backdrop for an incredible meal at the hotel's restaurant, which offers an "International High Desert" menu (featuring amazing cocktails and great vegan options!). In the evenings, your relaxation can continue at the mineral pools or indoor jetted soaking tub. If you're seeking a bit more activity, the hotel offers an eclectic calendar of events. Including guest DJs, cinema under the stars and a bazaar featuring local artists. I would absolutely recommend Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel for a short or extended stay, and can't wait to visit again!

Hotel Dining

Need to know

While Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel guest rooms and hotel mineral pools are only available for humans age 21+, they also offer offsite guest houses that are child and dog friendly. If you're a 21+ traveler, don't miss out on the amazing Happy's Hour specials (Monday–Friday from 3 – 5pm and all day Tuesday) at the onsite bar.
