The Half Moon property consists of 400 acres with everything you can imagine for an exclusive getaway. It should come as no surprise that their Founder's Cove reception is decorated with pictures of visiting dignitaries and jet-setters, such as King Charles, who chose to make Half Moon their Jamaican abode.
Accommodation
There is a reason you are greeted with a warm "Welcome home!" by all the staff here, even if it is your first time. There are no 'rooms' in the traditional sense of the word at Half Moon, but rather luxurious properties which range from bungalows to private villas. If what you wanted were all the amenities of a resort, but with the privacy of your own residence, then you have chosen the right place!
Food
Of course, no hotel of this level can get by on just average food. Half Moon strikes the right balance between the quality of the options provided and the variety of options. At breakfast (on the beach, of course) you can choose from various a la carte options or a buffet which includes an Eggs Benedict station. I opted for the local Jamaican breakfast with ackee and saltfish. For dinner, you can spend an entire week bouncing around between fresh seafood, Italian and local fare.
Spa & Wellness
Here you can choose between seafront bungalow couples massages, a morning tennis session (or pickle ball), a well-equipped state-of-the-art gym, and just lounging in one of the various pools.
Service
The staff at the Half Moon is unimpeachable. They all smile, try to get to know you (if you want), are filled with recommendations and strive to have you just relax.
I recommend the Half Moon as a romantic getaway destination for my clients. This could be for a honeymoon, babymoon, or even an odd-numbered anniversary. A destination wedding could even be in store! The property also has plenty of organized activities for children, so a family vacation is also worth exploring.
