Marlton Hotel, Greenwich Village
Curator’s statement

My go-to NYC hotel for years and years has been the Marlton Hotel in Greenwich Village. This 112-room boutique lifestyle hotel is perfectly situated a block from Washington Square Park. It gives major Parisian vibes with the decor and coziness.

All but two of the rooms are teeny tiny. Like sooooo tiny. And that can be off putting to some, but I love it. I don't spend much time in my room when I am in NYC and so it is perfectly design forward and clean for when I do rest my head. The penthouse rooms (there are two) are lovely. They have a sitting/living room and a bedroom with a king size bed (the only rooms in the hotel with King beds) and a bathroom that includes a tub (also the only rooms with tubs). One includes an INCREDIBLY large terrace which is a major plus. I also enjoy the twin bed rooms. There are two twin beds so this would be a great option for friends.

The lobby is a destination for the neighborhood as well as hotel guests. There is a cozy lounge area with a fireplace that is always on in the winter months. People tend to use the lobby as a work space, but the hotel staff will make sure to prioritize your seating if you are a hotel guest. There is also a little coffee bar and a restaurant called Margaux which serves a nice complimentary breakfast as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner to the public.

The price for the standard rooms is never over $400, so this is a great price point to design ratio. The penthouses typically start at $600/night, which is very reasonable for NYC.
