Guests are greeted with a mezcalita before taking the stroll down a dock, past a koi pond, leading directly to the beach. There they will find an expansive 164-foot infinity pool that feels like a natural extension of the untouched coastline that surrounds it. Equally as impressive, are the sixteen identical bungalows equipped with beach access, a private plunge pool and a secluded sundeck. Each beautifully appointed room has a comfortable king bed, air conditioning and everything needed to unwind after a day spent basking in the sun.

Set under the shelter of a giant palapa, Hotel Escondido’s on-site restaurant is another major draw to the property. The restaurant is overseen by acclaimed Chef Saúl Carranza, who has showcased his culinary mastery inside some of Mexico City’s most prestigious restaurants, including Pujol and Nobu. The kitchen’s artfully crafted dishes are created with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that provide an elevated farm-to-table experience. For added variety, there is also the option to head up the street to Kakurega Omakase for a taste of Japanese gastronomy.

If you’re searching for quiet luxury in a stunning setting, you’ve come to the right place. From an indulgent afternoon at the spa to an insightful tour of Casa Wabi, there is no shortage of activities to immerse yourself in during your stay. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway with your partner or a memorable celebration with your closest friends, this hidden gem creates the perfect backdrop for any special occasion.

Need to know

You can visit Hotel Escondido year-round, but the busy season is October to April based on ideal weather conditions — if high-temperature humidity is not your thing, take note. It typically takes between 30-45 minutes to get there from Puerto Escondido International Airport. Guests can book a private roundtrip shuttle in advance for about $123 or there are always on-site taxis for hire. Just be sure to have cash in hand.
