Arrival and check-In

My stay at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows in Arizona, began with a warm welcome and a fruity cocktail, setting the tone for a luxurious experience. The efficient check-in process included an on-service golf cart ride to my bungalow, provided by the friendly staff.

Room experience

The room was a masterpiece of beautiful architecture and spacious design. It features dim lighting that encourages natural light from both the front and back patios. Daily complimentary snacks include taffy, salty trail mix, still and sparkling waters and a uniquely flavored prickly pear soda.

Bathroom experience

The bathroom was nothing short of amazing, with a roomy shower and eye-catching tile work. A bathroom mirror with built-in lighting was perfect for skincare or makeup, and the skylight added a touch of natural illumination. The private sliding door and separate toilet room added to the luxury, while the comfortable beds and pristine bedding made for a dreamy sleep. The room was extremely clean, and housekeeping was prompt and attentive.

Relaxation and amenities

During my stay, I enjoyed a fitness class in aerial yoga, which was a welcoming entry-level class with a warm, personable teacher. The views of the pool and mountains from the class added to the serene experience. Reservations include full access to spa amenities. These include a steam room, private jacuzzi and sauna, providing a calming retreat with plenty of space for guests to spread out and relax.

Dining experience

Dining at the Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen was a highlight, with servers going above and beyond. When choosing a wine, the server provided excellent recommendations and even offered two tastings before I made my decision. Appetizers included a delightful hummus and charcuterie board, and poolside meals featured a hearty shrimp salad with avocado and a pitcher of a vodka mango beverage, perfect for sharing with friends. The pool is warmed to a comfortable temperature for chilly Arizona days, and the spacious hot tub, with its long rectangular shape, was perfect for relaxation.

Memorable extras

An on-site sommelier hosted a wine tasting event. It included four individual wines and energetic conversation, adding a fun and educational component to the stay. One of the standout amenities at the hotel was the first-come, first-served car service within a three-mile radius, making transportation incredibly convenient. The staff consistently offered golf cart rides back to the bungalow upon returning to the hotel.
