Embark on a journey through some of Europe’s most captivating destinations. Whether you're craving romance, adventure or a blend of both, this trip has it all. From charming hotels to hidden gems, let me take you through my summer adventure — perfectly curated for a luxurious and spontaneous escape.

Lisbon, Portugal – 3 nights at The Ivens, Autograph Collection and Pestana Palace Lisboa

Start your journey in Lisbon, a city where history meets modern charm.

I began my European adventure in Lisbon, spending my first night at The Ivens, Autograph Collection, a chic and contemporary spot in the heart of the city. For a delicious treat, we visited Rocco, the hotel’s stylish bar, where the croquetas were so amazing we returned twice! After enjoying the vibrant city, I spent the next two nights at Pestana Palace Lisboa, a stunning 19th-century palace hotel set in lush gardens. This peaceful retreat provides luxury and elegance while still being close to Lisbon’s lively culture. Explore nearby gems like the historic Alfama district, the iconic Belem Tower and the bustling Baixa neighborhood.

Why you’ll love it:

Autograph Hotel: Central location with a modern, stylish atmosphere and great tapas at Rocco.

Pestana Palace Lisboa: A luxurious and tranquil retreat with beautiful gardens.

Sorrento, Italy – 2 Nights at Maison La Minervetta

Next, head to the stunning Amalfi Coast.

After Lisbon, we spontaneously decided to visit Sorrento, a charming coastal town. I stayed at Maison La Minervetta. Perched on a cliff, this stylish hotel offers panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the charming town below. With its vibrant, eclectic design and a mix of modern art and Mediterranean flair, the vibe is laid-back yet sophisticated. The intimate setting, combined with personalized, attentive service, makes it a perfect retreat for those looking for a unique, luxurious experience with a touch of local charm.

Why you’ll love it:

Picturesque location overlooking the coast.

Romantic atmosphere perfect for couples.

A great base for exploring the surrounding Italian coastlines.

Capri, Italy – 3 Nights at Jumeirah Capri Palace

After Sorrento, head to the glamorous island of Capri.

We then traveled to Capri - this was my absolute favorite - the luxurious island known for its stunning views and sophisticated charm. I stayed at Capri Palace Jumeirah, an elegant luxury hotel perched above the island with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. This resort is the epitome of luxury, with world-class service, exceptional dining, and a relaxing ambiance.

Spend your days exploring the island’s most famous sights, including the Blue Grotto, Faraglioni Rocks, and the historic ruins of Villa Jovis, Emperor Tiberius' grand Roman residence. On your way back from Villa Jovis, be sure to stop at La Fontelina Beach and Restaurant – an iconic spot for lunch with incredible views, crystal-clear waters, and delicious seafood.

For a peaceful retreat, visit Villa Lysis, a serene villa with beautiful gardens and breathtaking views.

And whether you stay at Capri Palace or not, Zuma is a must-stop. The ambiance, the crowd, the view (try to go for sunset), and the food and cocktails are immaculate.

Whether enjoying the beautiful gardens, the spa, or the famed Michelin-starred restaurant, Capri Palace Jumeirah is the perfect place to unwind and savor Capri’s opulence.

Why you’ll love it:

Stunning location with breathtaking views.

Michelin-starred dining and top-tier wellness services.

The perfect mix of relaxation and glamour.

Ischia, Italy – 3 Nights at Botania Relais & Spa (anniversary celebration)

Celebrate love in the thermal paradise of Ischia.

We spent our anniversary in Ischia, a lesser-known gem in the Bay of Naples, known for its rejuvenating thermal spas and lush landscapes. We stayed at Botania Relais & Spa, a charming boutique hotel located near Ischia's San Montano Bay and the Negombo thermal spa. This family-owned property offers a serene and intimate atmosphere, featuring lush gardens, multiple swimming pools, and a luxurious spa.

A must-visit while on the island is Castello Aragonese, perched on a volcanic rock and connected to the island by a causeway. This medieval castle offers stunning views of the island and the sea, along with fascinating historical ruins to explore.

Why you’ll love it:

Private thermal pools and spas for relaxation.

Intimate atmosphere, perfect for special occasions.

Tranquil surroundings with beach and nature access.

Rhodes, Greece – 5 Nights

Next, head to Rhodes, a beautiful Greek island where history and beaches unite.

After Ischia, we flew to Rhodes to visit my boyfriend’s dad and stayed at Spirit of the Knights Boutique Hotel. Located in the heart of the medieval old town, this charming hotel combines history with contemporary elegance. The vibe is intimate and sophisticated, with its stone walls, arched ceilings, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a peaceful retreat in a beautifully restored mansion, complete with luxurious rooms and a private courtyard, all while being steps away from Rhodes' vibrant cultural sites and restaurants.

One of my favorite parts of Rhodes was having breakfast at Decan in the Old Town—this place is the true GEM! And the owner, George, is the best and the most hospitable. The bartender there, Pablos, will also make you the best Turkish coffee! I was honestly looking forward to breakfast every single day. It’s a cozy, local spot with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere, making it a perfect way to start the day.

Rhodes offers a mix of ancient ruins, sun-kissed beaches (I recommend Ronda!), and authentic Greek culture. Explore the medieval Old Town, dine in seaside tavernas, and take a boat trip to nearby islands.

Why you’ll love it:

Rich in history with the UNESCO-listed Old Town

Stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters

Delicious Greek cuisine and a laid-back island vibe

Paris, France – 1 Night at Hotel Indigo

Take a quick detour to the City of Lights to visit family and indulge in Parisian charm.

We couldn’t resist a night in Paris - which was amazing, just to catch a little breath; the temperature in Italy and Greece was so high! We stayed at the centrally located Hotel Indigo. With its contemporary design and unbeatable location, we explored iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the charming streets of Montmartre.

Why you’ll love it:

Excellent location in the heart of Paris, by Opera Garnier.

Modern, stylish interiors perfect for a short stay.

Easy access to the best of Parisian culture and cuisine.

Ibiza, Spain – 3 Nights at 7Pines and 3 Nights at Pacha

Finally, unwind and party in Ibiza, the island of sun and music.

To round off the trip, we headed to the iconic island of Ibiza to meet our group of friends and celebrate one of our friend's 40th birthday, and my birthday by the same occasion. We started our stay at 7Pines, a luxury resort offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere—perfect for relaxing by the pool. Afterward, we switched to Pacha for a more vibrant experience, with access to world-famous nightlife and beach clubs.

We rented a yacht for the day to explore Formentera (wow, the water was so clear and amazing—my favorite day by far), made a stop at Besos for a vibrant party lunch, and then headed back to Ibiza.

Need to know

Travel tips for your Euro trip:

  • Pack light and smart:
Europe’s cities and coastal destinations can involve a lot of walking and quick transitions between destinations. A versatile wardrobe for both city and beach settings is essential. Don't forget comfortable shoes for sightseeing and walking on cobblestone streets.

  • Cultural etiquette:
Each country has its own cultural nuances:

In Portugal, it’s customary to greet people with a handshake or a cheek kiss.

In Italy, be mindful of dress codes when visiting churches (covered shoulders and knees).

Greece is known for its hospitality, so don’t be shy about accepting drinks or local sweets when offered.

  • Transportation:
Lisbon has great public transportation, including trams and tuk-tuks that take you up the steep hills for some stunning views.

Sorrento is best explored on foot or by local bus, as it offers spectacular coastal views and narrow streets that can be difficult to navigate by car.

Ischia has limited public transportation, so consider renting a scooter or taking a private transfer for convenience. The island’s beautiful landscapes are best enjoyed on two wheels.

Rhodes has great walking opportunities within the Old Town, but renting a car or scooter is helpful if you want to explore the island’s beaches and ancient ruins.

  • Best time to visit:
Lisbon is perfect in the summer, but the weather can get hot. Visiting in the early morning or late evening can help you avoid the heat and crowds.

Sorrento and Ischia are lovely in the summer, but the Amalfi Coast can be quite busy, so book early and plan for some off-the-beaten-path experiences.

Rhodes is a great summer destination, with clear blue waters perfect for beach lovers. However, temperatures can soar, so always carry water and wear sunscreen.

  • Currency and payments:
Portugal, Italy, France, Spain and Greece are all in the Eurozone, so the same currency is used across these destinations.

While most places accept cards, it's always handy to carry a small amount of cash for smaller, local establishments or tips. Note that most places in Europe, do not accept Amex!

  • Food recommendations:
Lisbon: Don't miss pastéis de nata, the famous Portuguese custard tart, and try bacalhau (salted cod) at a local restaurant (the best are at Rocco in Lisbon!).

Sorrento: Indulge in authentic Neapolitan pizza and fresh seafood dishes, and don’t forget to try a glass of limoncello, made from Sorrento’s famous lemons.

Ischia: Enjoy traditional island dishes like coniglio all'ischitana (Ischia-style rabbit) and linguine alle vongole (linguine with clams), and savor fresh island seafood.

Rhodes: Try local specialties like moussaka and souvlaki along with a refreshing glass of ouzo or tsipouro.

  • Stay connected:
Make sure to get a local SIM card for your phone if you're planning to navigate with maps or stay connected while traveling. Many hotels offer Wi-Fi, but it’s always good to have your own data, especially for spontaneous detours.

  • Time zone:
All of these destinations are in Central European Time (CET), so no need to worry about jet lag when moving between cities.

  • Safety and health:
Europe is generally safe for travelers, but like in any destination, always stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded tourist spots. Keep a copy of your passport and travel documents in case of emergencies.
