Regarding lodging in Las Vegas, the options are boundless. But if you're looking for that "cool kid" vibe just off the Strip, the Palms Casino Resort, affectionately known as "Palms," is where the action's at. Nestled just off the bustling Las Vegas Strip, this Las Vegas hotel-casino offers a refreshing escape from the crowds while preserving the city's signature vibrancy. Don't plan on leisurely strolls to nearby destinations, as this off-Strip gem requires a short commute, but fear not, the Palms guarantees an unparalleled experience without the typical Strip frenzy. Amid the occasional hustle and bustle, you'll discover an oasis of relative serenity, setting it apart from other Las Vegas resorts.

Fun facts

Palms Casino Resort witnessed a change of hands in 2016 when the Fertitta brothers, renowned for their Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, acquired it for $312.5 million.

Pop culture enthusiasts might recognize the Palms from MTV's "Real World" episodes and Katy Perry's "Waking up in Vegas" music video.

After a two-year hiatus, it reopened its doors on April 27, 2022.

Review

Our stay revolved around the Fantasy King Room, a 510 sq ft haven situated in the Fantasy Tower. With floor-to-ceiling windows, this room offers stunning vistas. Its regal ambiance is accentuated by a king-sized bed, a 65" television and a luxurious marble bathroom. You'll find a fully stocked marble minibar, a walk-in shower and a surprisingly spacious work desk. The room also showcases captivating curated art pieces. For added convenience, two in-room phones facilitate communication, while an in-room alarm clock and optional wake-up service cater to various needs. Modern room controls near the entrance allow guests to signal housekeeping or a desire for uninterrupted privacy—a valuable feature for business travelers seeking focus during calls and video conferences.

Food and Beverage

The Palms houses some of Las Vegas' finest dining establishments. Notable among them is Vetri Cucina, the inaugural extension of Marc Vetri's acclaimed Italian restaurant from Philadelphia. For a taste of opulence, indulge in Scotch 80 Prime, a steakhouse paying homage to the Rat Pack era's iconic Scotch 80s neighborhood, renowned for serving authentic Kobe beef. You'll also find the Serrano Vista Cafe, offering comfort food with a contemporary twist, alongside other dining options like Send Noodles.

The Crowd

During the week, the crowd tend to lean towards business travelers and families, while weekends attract pleasure-seeking visitors. The allure of the Palms lies in its unique charm, drawing guests who seek a distinctive Las Vegas experience.

Location

Situated between Flamingo and Hugh Hefner Dr., this Las Vegas hotel casino is about one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip along Flamingo Road. It's a mere six miles away from Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran International). Alternatively, if you opt for a rental car, the resort provides complimentary parking.

Best Time To Visit

Las Vegas beckons year-round, with a wealth of attractions such as top-tier music residencies featuring artists like Usher and Adele. As a hub for conventions, festivals and gaming, there's never a wrong time to explore Las Vegas. Prices, crowds and weather can fluctuate from month to month, so the ideal time for your visit hinges on your preferences. Regardless of the season, Las Vegas always has something to offer.
