Location
Hotel Villa Flori is just a short drive from Como city, offering a highly convenient location. It provides proximity to Como while being situated directly on the lake's shore, free from surrounding buildings. Additionally, it is close to the charming and picturesque town of Cernobbio, perfect for leisurely gatherings.
Rooms
The hotel has 53 rooms, 48 of which have a lake view. One external apartment could be rented alone.
Hotel’s layout
Hotel Villa Flori is housed in the original villa building, with a separate private apartment available for rent in a different building. The villa, dating back to around 1800, was expanded in 1859 when Marquis Giorgio Raimondi gifted it as a wedding present to his daughter Giuseppina and her groom, General Giuseppe Garibaldi, a hero of Italy's unification. The restaurant is named in honor of the Marquis.
Food
Ristorante Raimondi: the restaurant underwent a complete renovation this past winter and has reopened for the 2024 season with a fresh, new look. The menu features traditional Italian cuisine, highlighting local dishes from the Lake Como region.
Sala della Musica: breakfast is served here.
Wellness
Any spa is available. You can also order massages or beauty treatments in your room.
Sport
Any gym is available.
Pros
The hotel has this historic and classic vibe, which throws you back to the first years of 1800. The common areas are stunning, exuding a beautiful and antique charm.
The separately rentable apartment is exceptionally beautiful, elegantly decorated and furnished. It includes a private terrace and solarium. The previous generation's owner lived there.
The view is something spectacular and it's almost 360°.
Cons
Don’t expect to find a spa or a gym or any other facility that needs big spaces. It’s not necessarily a con, but be aware of that!
The vibe is very classic, so go there if you like that vibe. Do not expect to find a modern place with modern comforts and architecture.
Need to know
What I loved most about Hotel Villa Flori was the view. The hotel offers nearly a 360° lake panorama, with its exterior walls sometimes touching the water. It's as if you are practically in the lake. The garden is also beautiful and a delightful place to enjoy on sunny days.
