Curator’s statement
In January of 2024, I stayed at the beautiful Marquis Los Cabo in San Jose del Cabo. This amazing all-inclusive, adults only, no timeshare resort was the perfect mother daughter getaway! I was continually impressed by the hotel atmosphere, staff, and food and can't wait to stay here again!

Location
The resort is located about 35 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). It is recommended to organize transportation from the airport ahead of time as there are no Ubers allowed on airport property and taxi's can be a bit confusing, and most require cash. We chose to schedule private SUV transportation through Viator, but the hotel offers its services as well.
Upon arrival, we were handed a signature margarita and stepped through to the outdoor lobby. Being the focal point of the whole resort, the main arch hosts both the lobby and concierge, as well as entertainment events throughout the week.
Check in was smooth and simple, and being a member of the Leaders Club through (LHW), all of our room preferences were taken care of. We stayed in an Ocean View King Suite, but spoiler alert - every room of the five-story resort is beach front! Every room faces the water. You can opt to book a "Casita" which are stand alone small buildings will include a small kitchenette, as well as a private small pool on either the main pool level (for those on level one) or the top of the casita (level two).
Pool/Beach
The hotel is beach front, and staff will come to take both food and drink orders throughout the day. There are numerous chairs and umbrellas which are set up each morning for guests. While the water is not swimmable, the Hilton is a short 10-minute beach walk and you can choose to swim there - with a lifeguard.
The pool level of the hotel includes an infinity pool that spans the entire length of the property and lined with chairs and umbrellas. This pool is heated and also serviced during the day. There is an additional pool located in the center of the property that is not heated, but also offers water aerobic classes in the mornings. There are numerous staff supporting the pool area, so you never have to leave your chair if you so desire!
Entertainment
Each day there are planned workout classes, poolside games and activities, as well as nightly entertainment. One afternoon was bingo in which the winner won a free day spa pass! Each nightly performance included additional food and therefore if you are looking to change up eating in the hotel's restaurant you can mingle with other guests at these functions. One night we had a Mariachi band (on the pool deck) and another we had fire dancers (on the beach)! These events are fully staffed and you will never find yourself without a drink in hand.
Dining
The resort is home to four restaurants of various cuisines that are included with your stay, as well as an additional restaurant that offers a French eight course wine pairing meal that is offered at an upcharge. We chose to eat there one night and it was culinary bliss! It included lobster, escargot, as well as filet. We also got to sample multiple Mexican wines. There is a stand alone bar on the pool level that is open late into the evening and a coffee shop that offers coffees and pastries throughout the day. If you are looking to enjoy a meal from your room, you can order room service 24/7, as well as pre-ordering breakfast if you would like it upon waking.
Other Amenities
There is a spa and gym that leave nothing to be desired - but get there early, who knew so many people worked out on vacation! The Marquis also offers an app in which you can review restaurant/pool/drink menus, create reservations, and view the numerous activities going on during your stay. There is a contact us page, saving you the time going to the lobby for any issues, as well as a resort map. We did have slight trouble with the Wi-Fi, so do make sure someone in your party has a cellular data plan!
Additional Information
While there is no reason for you to ever leave the property, we chose to go on a Whale Watching excursion with Cabo Whale Watch. If you are traveling to Cabo in winter, it is the best time to see whales as they migrate to the area to mate. We explored the shops and culture in downtown Cabo San Lucas and were easily able to catch Ubers, but the concierge can organize transportation if you desired.
Need to know
I cannot recommend the Marquis Los Cabo enough to any couple or friend group looking for a more quiet adults only stay in Mexico. The staff was unbelievably attentive and always went out of their way to make your stay unforgettable. It is important to note that the staff are allowed to accept tips, so please make sure to bring cash to thank them for their services, they work extremely hard to ensure every guest is satisfied. I will be back to the Marquis in the future for certain!
