Site Inspection at Garza Blanca Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico
Curator’s statement

In November of 2023, I did a site inspection while staying at the beautiful Garza Blanca Resort and Spa. The hard-working staff made this experience at the resort very memorable. I would definitely recommend this resort to my clients who are looking for an all-inclusive with great food.

This stunning compact resort is located on the sandy beaches of Playa Mujeres, which is about a 50-minute car ride from the Cancun International Airport and about 30 minutes from downtown Cancun. This property has the option to have the European plan or the All-Inclusive plan. At this resort, regardless of whether you do all-inclusive or not, you have to sign a check at the end of your meal. The prices seemed outrageous if you were going to pay as you go and made more sense to do the all-inclusive option.

I was greeted with a cold towel and a welcome drink upon entering the lobby. The check-in process was pretty easy. The rooms in this resort are very spacious and there are hammocks everywhere, including on the balconies of the rooms. They have options of a regular Junior Suite, a one, two or three bedroom — which essentially combines rooms with a connecting door. The one bedroom Suite where I stayed had two bathrooms- so very convenient that the kids had their own bathroom.

There are six restaurants on the property in addition to the food that is served on the rooftop. You can also visit the restaurants on the sister property, Villa del Palmar. All the restaurants at Garza were delicious, plus Davino's at Villa del Palmar was amazing. It's a must-try! You can set up reservations ahead of time on their site.

If you don't like the beach, no problem! There are many pools on the property.

The Kids club has a daily schedule where your kids can enjoy different crafts, games and movies. My kids usually don't like going to the kids club very much, but here they asked to go daily to do the different craft activities. At 5pm the carousel is open and the kids can go ride!

While the kids are in the kids club, you can go up to the adults-only rooftop infinity pool and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. There is a bar up there to have some cocktails or order lunch to your seat. The sushi on the menu at the rooftop was delicious!

Overall, this resort is amazing in all aspects. My only negative, and this may not be important to everyone, but there is nothing to do in the evening. After dinner, there was a piano player in the lobby. If you are with kids, there is nothing going on for them other than the carousel. And let's be honest, how many times can they go on it? Especially if they are older. If you are those people who crash after dinner, then it is perfect! I asked the site specialist about this, and he said that they did have some complaints about this, and they were working on doing some family programs in the evening in the future.

Need to know

I recommend Garza Blanca Resort and Spa to clients looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive experience with great food. It can work for families that don't need any entertainment in the evening or adults just looking to get away. Please contact me and let me plan an amazing all-inclusive vacation!
