A Dream Babymoon at Viceroy Los Cabos
Curator’s statement

My wife and I spent five days here for our babymoon trip in February 2025. The resort’s elegant layout and luxury style are what brought us to choose this trip's location, and it did not disappoint. The staff were always welcoming, attentive, and greeted us everywhere with a “Buenos días!”. I greatly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this resort to any clients looking to stay in the paradise that is Los Cabos.

Where to stay in Los Cabos

Location

Viceroy Los Cabos is located a mere 20 minute drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Having a ride pre-arranged for transport to the resort makes arrival smooth and efficient, enabling you to bypass all the timeshare sellers. Viceroy is located on the beachfront in San José del Cabo, making it ideal for those looking for a quaint (and quieter) alternative to Cabo San Lucas.

Rooms

We stayed in a King ocean view room located in the main building, and all rooms come with a personal butler. The view from the room made us gasp upon entering — it’s stunning! This type of room comes with a balcony complete with an outdoor table, daybed and soaking tub. The automated blackout shades are clutch for sleeping in.

Food

The food at Viceroy is definitely a highlight worth discussing. There are five restaurants on site, plus one bar/coffee bar. Casero is your breakfast and lunch spot to eat with a stunning pool-side view and soak up the sun. The chilaquiles are so fantastic, I almost had them every morning. The surprise stand-out dish for me was the Iberic & Burrata pizza at Cielomar - cap it off with the marshmallow espresso martini for dessert. The trip also happened to fall on my birthday. The iconic Nido restaurant nestled in the middle of the hotel, made my birthday dinner extra special with a giant sparkler and divine chocolate cake! Even though Nido is omakase and raw seafood forward, there is still a variety of cooked foods on the menu for those with different diets (or pregnant!). It is important to note that Viceroy is not an all-inclusive by default, but they do offer an optional upgrade package.

Activities

The beach is beautiful and fine sand, with a private Viceroy beach chair section and wait staff. The public beach begins when you walk out of the Viceroy barrier to go down to the water. There are beach vendors, but they are very friendly and not pushy. Unfortunately, the water was too choppy (and cold!) to get into the ocean, but the views more than made up for that. During whale season, whales are very active and viewable from the beach & resort! It was a nice treat to eat breakfast out on the room's balcony and watch the whales spout water up every morning. There are several unique pools up on the decks closest to the hotel, and are usually quiet and relaxing. Two more pools are down at the beach by Nidito Pool Bar.

Need to know

The Viceroy is ideal for luxury clients looking for a honeymoon, wedding or babymoon. Although children are allowed at the resort, there was a noted lack of “child-specific” areas (no splash pad, no water slides, etc.). Although the weather in winter was perfect, summer would be a better time to visit for clients who want to be able to get in the ocean. On the flip side, February and March are peak whale watching seasons!
