Nestled on a tree-lined street in the heart of Soho, The Manner offers a new style of hospitality that is discreet, refined and generous. This 97-room boutique hotel, designed by Milan-based architect Hannes Peer, seamlessly blends retro 1970s charm with contemporary maritime touches.
From arrival to departure
Upon arrival, the grand entry of the hotel, adorned with beautiful tiles, instantly sets the tone for a luxurious stay. The soothing sounds of a fountain and a stunning crystal chandelier create a spa-like ambiance as you step inside. The open-layout living room-esque area, known as The Apartment, invites guests to relax with sunken leather mid century-modern couches and gold-lacquered tables.
I absolutely loved the comfort of the mattress, comforter and pillows, which made for a restful night's sleep. The provided slippers added a touch of luxury, and the chandelier gave the room a retro feel. The sitting area, with its open window view of the city, was a perfect spot to unwind. The full mirror that covered one complete wall added a spacious and elegant touch. Upon arrival, we were also treated to a welcome snack—a yummy cookie and mixed nuts—adding a warm touch to the overall experience.
I also appreciated the fridge stocked with sparkling and still glass water bottles, hinting at the hotel's commitment to sustainability. The hallways bathed in a golden hue, adding flair and sophistication to the experience.
Exceptional service
The housekeeping was swift and great with time adjustments, making sure everything was perfect. The front desk was responsive and super helpful, always ready to assist with any requests or questions. The presence of doormen to guide you in and out of the hotel added an extra touch of elegance and convenience.
Dining and drinking
The hotel contains multiple dining experiences. The Otter is amazing, with delicious seafood dishes that left me wanting more. Sloane's bar was a highlight, offering unique and delightful cocktails in a cozy atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the Toreador, a spicy tequila drink. The apartment living room vibe was perfect for relaxing, and it made for an ideal hometown getaway where I could stay inside and enjoy every moment.
Nearby attractions
There were amazing restaurants nearby, just a short 5-minute walk away. Some of the standout options included Piccola Cucina Estiatorio and Boqueria Soho, both offering fantastic dining experiences.
Piccola Cucina Estiatorio is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful blend of Sicilian and Greek cuisine. I enjoyed a delicious lobster pesto pasta with ceviche over quinoa and paired it with a glass of rosé. The fresh pasta and seafood were packed with flavor.
Boqueria Soho, inspired by Barcelona’s lively tapas bars, serves up a vibrant selection of Spanish small plates. I savored the anchovies and olives, paella, bacon-wrapped dates and ahi tuna. Their curated cocktails added to the overall experience.
