Curator’s statement
My husband and I joined over 100 friends for a three-night, four-day cruise on Utopia of the Seas, one of Royal Caribbean's newest ships. To say it sets a new standard for modern cruising is an understatement. As soon as I stepped onto the ship, I felt like I was stepping into a whole new world. The ship's design and decor really appealed to all of my senses!

Cruise details
Ship: Utopia of the Seas
Itinerary: Port Canaveral, Nassau, Bahamas and CoCo Cay
Travel companions: Over 100 of our closest friends
Accommodations
Our stateroom was beautifully designed, featuring a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a balcony offering breathtaking ocean views. The room’s decor provided both comfort and style. We appreciated all the storage spaces and modern technology, including a smart TV and app access for easy onboard services.
Dining experience
The dining options were truly impressive. From the main dining room that served culinary delights each night to specialty restaurants, every meal felt like a special occasion. Highlights included:
Chops Grille: Delicious steaks and excellent wines.
Buffet at Windjammer: “Buffet All Day!” A huge selection of international dishes that will satisfy any palate.
Room service: Convenient and delicious, perfect for relaxing evenings on the balcony!
Activities & entertainment
Utopia of the Seas offers so many activities for all ages, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Some of the highlights included:
Broadway-style shows: Wonderful performances like those found in major theaters. My favorite was the water show.
Water slides and pools: The Aquapark was a favorite, especially during sunny sea days.
Sports deck: Options such as pickleball, zip-lining and rock climbing kept us active and entertained.
Relaxation areas: The adults-only pool area was peaceful and calm, away from the busier decks. Naps were had!
Ports of call
Each destination was memorable and unique. Nassau has a wonderful market area right off the ship. Convenient, colorful and lots of delicious local food. The shopping and local charm made for a fun day. CoCo Cay is Royal Caribbean’s private island, and our group opted for the Adults Only Perfect Beach Day. The beach is clean and relaxing, and the pool has a fun party vibe. Something for everyone in our group!
Service
Throughout the cruise, the service was top-notch. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our large group, making everything seamless and enjoyable. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, accommodating and eager to ensure we had a wonderful experience.
Final thoughts
Overall, sailing on Utopia of the Seas was an extraordinary experience filled with luxury, adventure and relaxation. I highly recommend this ship for families, couples, solo travelers and large groups who want a mix of adventure and relaxation. It’s an ideal choice for anyone seeking a quick yet unforgettable getaway with friends or family.
