Curator’s statement
I play tennis and I love visiting top tennis tournaments. It is a thrill to watch the best tennis players in action while I enjoy the local sites. I live in Palm Springs/Indian Wells. Every year I attend the tournament considered the 5th major tournament, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. For the past few years I have had the opportunity to attend top tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open and the Rome tournament. Each trip I pick up additional insights to plan the ultimate tennis trip, pairing the love for tennis with the love to travel and explore.

To visit a major tennis tournament, a trip needs to be plan well in advance to secure tickets for the tournament.

For some tournaments, if tickets are not available, other options might be possible.
Here are the top tournaments:
Wimblendon in London
US Open in New York
Roland Garros in Paris
BNP Paris Open at Indian Wells
Melbourne - Australian Open
Internazionali D'Italia in Rome

For an amazing tennis trip, consider:
Attend a local tennis charity event. Several events are usually scheduled at the beginning of the tournament. A favorite of mine is Taste of Tennis.
Attend a tennis clinic hosted by a tennis star.
Plan local tours to explore the city where the tournament is held.
Plan a relaxing tennis vacation before or after the visit to the tournament at a tennis resort where a tennis clinic is offered.

Need to know
A visit to a top tennis tournament for 2/3 days should be planned together with a 2 or 3-day visit to the city where the tournament:
Wimbledon / London
Roland Garros / Paris
Us Open / New York
Indian Wells / Palm Springs and Joshua Tree
Rome International / Rome
Australian Open / Melbourne and if it is the first visit to Australia, it should be combined with a week tour of the country.
